Hard time with water!

I have a really hard time remembering to drink water, and when I do remember, I have a hard time drinking it! I'll be super thirsty but as soon as it gets in my mouth I have a hard time finishing the cup.
Does anyone have any advise for me?? It's affecting my complexion and my migraines negatively.

I have the same problem! I like to squirt a dollop of lemon juice into my water -- it's probably not quite as healthy as pure water but it makes it a little more palatable to me and I have an easier time drinking it. You can also buy little packets of mixes such as Crystal Lite to add to your water, if you prefer more flavor, and if you don't mind that it's made up of lots of random chemicals.0

Some of the water flavorings really helped me increase my water intake. Once you get more in on a regular basis, you'll actually start craving it plain.0

Use a bottle or a straw. It is easier to drink as I you take less at a time. I always use bottles with sport lid and as a small amount of water flavouring like sugar free lime. Any liquid is good - it doesn't have to be pure water always. I actually don't like tap water so only drink it with cordial. Bet you find it easier. Also little and often in the key...0

Earlier posts are good. Adding flavor, using a straw. You might want to check out infusing water. This is one site that has lots of recipes.

I found having a pitcher in the frig ready for me to pour a glass of infused water makes it more appealing. I particularly like lemon with ginger. Also like using cucumber and kiwi in water too. This worked out so well for me, I purchased infused pitchers. I have one at home and one at work.
Occasionally I'll add Truvia to sweeten a bit but I try to stick with just the water.
Also have to agree that once you make that transition, drinking plain water seems to be easier now. Took me about a month to enjoy a glass of water.
Another idea is to play with the temperature of your water. I found I don't like a lot of ice. I might have one ice cube in room temperature water. If I pour from my infused water pitcher, I don't add ice.0 -
Drink tea, coffee, squash - it's all water.0

STRAW STRAW STRAW!
seriously i put a straw in my litre bottle and just sip on it while I'm watching something and then its like a little gone by the time the show finishes!0 -
I count anything that doesn't have caffeine as water (except caffeine free sodas, 'cause they're just not that good for me lol). So, juice, tea, crystal light, whatever. While the sugars aren't great for you, so long as you don't go overboard with them you should be fine. I didn't used to like water, either. My husband still doesn't. For me, water used to have to be as cold as possible. I've since adapted to drinking straight from the tap, but it took a long time for me to get there.0

I just read where some celebrity (can't remember which one) starts each day with 20 SIPS of water... I tried this the other morning and now it's a daily habit. I use to down 8 ounces and it would hit my stomach hard and every mooring it was a battle with myself. After the 20 sip counting nonsense, i finish the water while my coffee brews and I empty the dishwasher from the night before. The rest of the day water is easier to drink for some crazy reason.0

Add lemon or other fruit slices. Crystal Light or Mio.0

one of those things where you just gotta toughen up and do it0

I concur on the lemon or even lime juice.0

If you don't like water, don't drink it. Find what you will drink (coffee, juice, milk, soda pop, etc.) and drink that. If it has calories, remember to log it. Water's not the first thing I want to drink when I'm thirsty, but it's free and has no calories.0

I keep a liter bottle at work and refill it when it's empty. This has drastically increased my water intake. My goal is to drink 2 of them at work so that way I meet the amount I should have. I find it hard also but I make mysel chug 2 cups or 16 ounces with each break I have. I don't think about it, just chug and get it down lol, then after a while you crave it. I work in an OR so I don't have the luxury of sipping all day but I find getting it down fast way easier.0

Get yourself a water bottle and keep it with you all the time. I drink waaaay more water since doing so myself. I like the Contigo brand - 24 oz, spiil-proof, one hand operation to take a drink, fits in my car's cupholders, and goes in the dishwasher. They have different models, some with straws, some without, some insulated to keep things cold (awesome insulated coffee mugs too!), some as large as 32 oz. You can find them at Target, Costco, WalMart, Orchard Supply, or Amazon.
