how can i make running indoors not suck?

its boring running on treadmills, and theres too much snow to run...currently/

    I have a tv and PVR in front of mine. Passes time quote nicely. ;)

    I also have a great run mix on my ipod I made for my first half marathon. It makes me remember the route when I hear the songs. more inspiration.

    If and when I get stuck inside, I opt to do speed sessions on the treadmill...

    5 min warm-up walk
    10 minute slow run
    # X 400 (1/4 mile) intervals with 1-2 minute rest in between (depending on how many I do)
    10 minute slow run
    5 minute cool-down walk

    The constant change helps me take my mind off the fact I am stuck inside.
  • I agree with doing intervals. It makes the time pass much quicker no matter what machine you are on. I also like to go when a couple of TV shows are on that I like so I can switch back and forth. A great music mix helps too when there's no TV.
