Or throw it in soup0 -
I don't really like all that bagal breading either...
So you can look at the pile of bread you got as compared to the bagal you have left and are going to eat... if they're about the same then its half.. if its bigger than maybe you have one third or a quarter left.. or maybe that is how much you scooped out.
Yeah that's true, I could just eyeball it and hope for the best. Maybe underestimate what I take out so I don't end up eating extra calories0 -
Why don't you just eat half the bagel?
Because she's making a sammich. A sammich isn't a sammich if the top is missing. I don't care what anyone says.

Anyways, thanks everyone! I'm sure I'll like the bagel thins, but there's just something about fresh bagels that I love so much!0

Because the idea is to have a "bagel" not a slice of bread. Duh! Haha. They are apples and oranges. I guess you're not a New Yorker.0

Finally someone who understands. I'm a New Yorker. A "REAL" New Yorker, born and raised. Although the whole bagel is delicious (and it HAS to be a boiled bagel, not a roll with a hole in it GRRR), the outer shell is the really special part. The crisp bottom, the chewy yummy top. I hate to throw out the inside but if I have to choose, I like the outer part rather than the inner part.0

Drooling!! Will you share your chicken salad recipe? Pretty please?0

why are you doing that? such a waste of food... they have bagel thins now.
Not necessarily a waste. It's only wasteful of you put it down the garbage disposal.
I've done this with a bagel when other options weren't available (all day seminar where I couldn't leave to get lunch and wasn't permitted to bring food in) and stuffed it with some good protein. It will actually hold a good amount more of tuna or shrimp salad.
The scooped out bread went to the birds, so nothing wasted.0 -
Canoe it and keep the calories the same... instant deficit.
Let the insides go stale then make breadcrumbs out of them for later use...0 -
Weight it....About 50 calories per ounce.....0
-
I would say less than 300 (what kind of question is this?)0
-
I think 150 calories would be a good guess.0
-
You would have to weight it before and after, never saw two bagel brands that looked the same.0

1st world problem0

Now I want a bagel.0
