Hi All. Not sure if I'm posting in the right place or not, I just need some input on how to eat. After being diagnosed with type 2 diabetics Oct 2 years ago, I have been on Byetta 10 pen. 2 weeks ago I started to see some lows, 46ish to 60's. Prior to this my way of eating, weight loss, & byetta had kept it normal with my A1c coming down every 3 months. My last one was 5.1! I saw my doctor, ane he gave me 5 pen, but I haven't used either pen or any other diabetic meds and am still having this problem unless I eat every 2 hours! He said our goal now is to see how to medicate or not medicate! It's also worse when I exercise!
I SO DON"T want to gain back the weight and I hate to give up walking my 1-2 hours a day. But what do I do? I don't want to feel weak or shakey or nervous either! I'm so frustrated. HELP!

As a fellow diabetic, I would just encourage you to work super closely with your doctor. Get his cell phone, call him at all reasonable hours of the day. That is what he's there for!
When I first was put on an insulin pump, my doctor wanted me to call her in the middle of the night. No joking! She'd get after me in the morning if there were no 3 or 5 am messages, lol.

I was able to get off of insulin just recently.

Do you do a sliding scale based on how much you eat? Like take 1 unit for every 10 carbs you eat (60 carbs would be 6 units). If that's the case, try adjusting it lower to see if it helps.

But totally bug your doctor incessantly. Lows are scary business!

Ask you doc WHAT you can eat every 2 hours to maintain even blood sugar. I had great success eating a clean diet with snacks every 2-3 hours, and I actually lost weight eating that way, but it has to be wholesome foods. Since you are diabetic and I am not familiar with what you should and should not be eating, approach your doc about giving you a list of foods that would help with this while still being able to keep off your weight. Good luck. :flowerforyou:

I'm having similiar issues and seeking answers so I'm going to stay tuned for some responses. I love to work out but it feels frustrating when I end up feeling so ill afterward!
