V-Day Wine?

I need to buy wine. He likes reds and zinfindels. I need to see where the calories are at because we're killing the calorie count with candy and wine tonight.

    Zinfandels are reds. Unless you get white zinfandel.

    And white zinfendel is PINK!! Go for an old vine Zinfindel or a Cabernet if he likes the heavier red wines. Next step down is Merlo, and Syrah, and then my favorite, Pino Noir!

    Consider a quality beer. There are several quite worthy of a special occasion.
    Nearly anything by Chimay is a good introduction.

    Grande Reserve and Cinq Cents are my personal faves

    I just had 3 x 6 oz of Peppoli, a damn fine Italian Chianti.
    I am so over today- But made great choices with my food.
    My time at the gym tomorrow will be worth every single oz. I have just consumed.

    OP do you know the country he prefers? I think many wine drinkers also prefer to drink from one country - i.e. I love Italian (old world), but will do Argentia as 2nd choice. Whereas I have some friends, who prefer to stick to California or Australia.

    I don't drink a lot of whine, but a good Tempranillo every now and then is nice. Goes well with chocolate in my opinion.
