So I have been wondering what is the correct way to take your measurements. For waist where should the tape go, the same thing goes for the hips and everything else.
Any tips will be appreciated, i want to make sure that I am taking my measurements correctly

the thing is, everyone is built a little different, so it varies. The main thing is, you want to be able to do it the same every time. I'm very freckled, so I look for that one particular freckle on my upper arm that "marks the spot" for me. As long as you're consistent, you can pick the spots you want to measure.0

I am pretty sure that when measuring your waist, you relax your belly, and measure around the smallest area. The same goes for your neck-measure the smallest area. For hips, its the opposite, you measure around your largest area. Hope this helps0

Exactly.
To find the smallest part of your waist, stand in front of a mirror and bend to one side slightly, where it creases is your smallest part (usually around 2 inches above your belly button). This is NOT where your jeans fall or anything like that, it's higher!0 -
Also stay with one arm or one leg, left or right. I put in calf, thigh, upper arm as extra measurements. Each side of my body is up to 0.5-1 inch diffrent!0

I always measure at my belly button, since that's where I like to wear my pants at. I measure my hip at the top of the bone in my leg.0

Dr. Oz said you're allowed to suck in your stomach while measuring!0

I have trouble knowing where to measure my hips. I read somewhere that you should measure at the largest part...but the largest part of my hips is actually right at the bottome of my butt...is that too low of a place to measure? I've been trying to do it at my hip bone but I have a hard time measuring in the same place each time.
As for my waist, I just measure at the smallest part. I'm very hourglass shaped so that's pretty easy for me to find. For my calf, again I just measure the largest part (my calves are super beefy, i hate it!). For my bicep...first I flex so I find that middle biggest part. I measure my bicep while flexed and then I relax it and measure in the same spot unflexed. I don't measure my neck but I do measure my chest.0 -

This is the best way to measure your waist. When I had a nurse take my measurements, she pulled the tape tight (she was being nice). Whichever way you decide to measure, do the same each time you take them.
For your hips, the rule of thumb is to measure 9" down from your waist, or the fullest part - even if it's at the bottom of your rear end. Hope this helps!0 -

Or if you have a spare tire like me, you measure at the largest area of your belly :P0 -
Here is a picture of women's measurements. This is based on a clothing size chart. Hope it helps.
A) Bust/Chest — Put the measuring tape under your arms to measure around the fullest part of your bustline.
Waist — Measure around your natural waistline. This is the narrowest part of your torso, usually near your belly button.
C) Hips — Put your legs together and measure around the widest point of your hip area.
D) Inseam — For this measurement, it's best to use a pair of pants that fit you well. Lay them flat and measure the inseam (the inner leg seam), from the top to the cuff.0 -

Do I have a weird waist line then? I feel like mine may be abnormally high, since the smallest part of my torso is about 3 inches up from my belly button.0

My waist gets higher when I am bigger, and lower when I'm smaller. I carry weight in my abdomen. At the rate I was going it was going to be right under my armpits soon!0
