44, 28lbs to lose, nhs 12 week plan, want to play?

I am 44, 45 this year. My weight has slowly crept on over last few years. Due to a pretty tough 12 months I have not been motivated to do anything about it. I have tried but not really put the effort in.
My weight really gets me down and I know if I sorted that, made some real lifestyle changes, I would be better placed to deal with everything else in my life.

I have decided to start the nhs 12 week weight loss plan. I also aim to reduce alcohol and salt in take.

I want to lose 21lbs with the ultimate goal of 28lbs. I have been this weight before and stayed there.

Is there anyone who has similar to lose and fancies doing a 12 week programme?

    Hi,
I'm 51, and I have dropped 39 since 1st Jan (total loss target is 100-104 over 18-24 months)
Is your goal over the 12 weeks to drop 21?
After my big initial drop - which has been much faster than plan (about double!), I was looking to taper down to 1 lb per week, but I could probably be encouraged to push a bit harder. Let me know. Can you post a link to the NHS 12 week plan?
    Cheers.

EDIT - I should have searched before asking: http://www.nhs.uk/Livewell/weight-loss-guide/Pages/weight-loss-guide.aspx
    Having a read now.
