Yes, yes, yes!!! I have kidney stones and have to limit my sodium and protein and drink 2 - 3 liters per day. Water is definitely the answer to flushing that sodium out and taking it easy on your kidneys.
  • THANK YOU ,.... i had thought so but i was double checkin myself lol

thank you for asking that question ha ha, and thank you for the answer :D i have been doing SO GOOD on watching my sodium the past week and a half, then i went out to dinner tonight to red lobster and the dinner i had had 3000+ mg of sodium! AAAHHHH. so i've been drinking water hoping that was the answer to trying to counter all that crap i just put in my body. lol

yeah, i postponed my weigh in today because of Chinesse yesterday. Love it, except it is loaded with sodium.
  • So true. Water is the key to flushing out sodium! I hate that you even try to eat haelthy at a favorite restaurant and "this is low fat" and "that is low calorie"...but the sodium levels are HIGH! Grr! Id rather eat the fat then have all that sodium which bloats you up and makes you feel miserable! They say to drink a few cups right after the sodium covered meal so instantly you flush out! Keep in mind, you may gain water weight after drinking alot of water from flushing out the sodium but give your body a full day afterwards and you will be fine. :)

Just remember that water will flush out electrolytes along with the sodium, so make sure you're not overdoing it so much that you're throwing off your electrolytes.
  • or you can eat a banana or baked potato as potassium has the same effect.
