When smoking meat, do you prefer a wet marinade or dry rub? Done both. I feel the dry rub gives a better crust, but the wet penetrates the meat. Your thoughts?

I vote meat. Dry, wet, smoked, grilled, on or off the bone. Nom nom nom. ( that being said I do have a smoker to try out this summer and plan to try everything I can fit in there)

My best results have been an Injection marinade with dry rub.

I think if you are using wet then the injection method is the most effective for really getting it into the meat. Does work great on turkey and whole chicken. Then adding the dry rub oh yeah tasty !

I like a little dry rub first just to get things started, and then a nice wet marinade. Flood the whole thing with flavor and keep things nice and juicy.

DRY!!! The flavor is such much better if it sits over night so the spices can marry! NOW I need me some ribs. Shoot!
