That's what I have now and love 'em! I might just get another pair.0 -
Go to a running store where they can analyze your gait and recommend something that suits you. Trust me on this.0

The best running shoes are the ones that work for you and your foot. No other opinion matters.0

yup go get fitted, it really can vary ALOT based on your feet, how you run, and what your plans/goals are for them.0

Agree 100%. The best shoe for someone else is not necessarily the best shoe for you. I have been happy with Brooks for myself.0 -
The best running shoe is the one that fits you properly. I highly recommend finding a local running store that can do a proper fitting for you. It was doing that that let me know I was wearing too small of a shoe size and not getting one with proper support for my gait. Different brands work well for different reasons - I've been happy with Brooks but they are a little expensive.0

I agree with going to a running store to get your gait analyzed.0

Getting fitted for the right running shoe has made all the difference in my running--I could practically hear angels singing when I put on the shoes that I use now (Asics Gel Kayano 19s). So just seconding all the people who say to go to a running store and get fitted properly!0

try on several or get fitted like those here have been saying.
I have been using Asics for my past three pair.
Had nike, under armor and adidas in the past. each worked.0 -
1. If you're just starting up again or whatnot then just get a pair of shoes that fit your feet. Brand is irrelevant. If you're not running all the time it won't really matter, as long as they're comfortable.
2. If you're upgrading shoes because you're running all the time then yes, take your butt to a running store and get your gait analyzed. You'll find out what shoes are right for you. Once you bought your first pair from the running store the next time you need a new pair you can just buy the same model online somewhere for cheap.0 -
Great advice! Thanks everyone!0

I was curious about this too, I was wondering what it cost you guys (approximately) to get your running shoes professionally fitted? I was hoping to keep under 150?0

Paid $100 even. I was actually worried that I didn't get a quality shoe for that price. The next day I saw that the shoe I got won an award from Runners World. I was pleasantly surprised that good running shoes don't have to cost too much.0 -
Vibram Five-Fingers. No contest.0

Nike Roshe Runs. So comfortable and I've noticed a major difference in my running.0

I like Asics for running/cardio and Nike for cross training.0

Everyone's feet are different. I've got the Brooks Ghost, which I love, but that may not be your cup of tea. Go to a store specialized on running shoes and gear and get yourself assessed. How you run is as important as your shoe size for the correct choice of shoe :flowerforyou:0

Mine were $110 (FYI - Brooks GTS). I have found them since online for $60 (!!!! Not sure if that will happen again!) and more recently $80. I was fine with paying the higher price point for my first pair, since I appreciated the time and everything that the person took to fit me. I figured that store deserved my money, at least that first time.0 -
Hoka Stinson Evo, hands down.

yes sir!0 -
I agree with the above. the best shoes are the shoes that work best for you. that being said, I've worn Mizuno's and I found that they tend to wear out fast; however, they are light, stylish and have more of a natural feel, but my feet also tend to hurt. I just bought some Asics Nimbus 15 and those feel pretty good, although, they are heavier than the Mizuno's. My feet felt good after my 5 mile run on sunday. i'm also going to get some Brooks Glycerin (the Cadillac of shoes I've been told). hopefully that's a good thing!0

I like Vivobarefoot Pure and EVO lite0

No necessarily. When I started back up, I did this. Got a pair of Nike at the big box store that felt comfortable in the store, but after running a few miles they killed my ankles. Went to the running store, and they said the Nike weren't supporting my over-pronantion enough. If I had gone to the running store first, I'd have saved myself the cost of one pair of shoes.0 -
I have a pair of Nike Free 4.0 v3's and I LOVE them. They're great. Very light weight and supportive. Have put 200+ miles on them so far and they've held up super well. The thing about the Free series though is that 3.0/4.0/5.0 are different thickness levels, but the overall trend is a more "natural" feel. Def recommend the 4.0.0

running shoes should be under $100....unless you are in Australia and they mark the price up by about 150%!
That being said, I'm an Asics Nimbus Gel kinda gal0
