Scared to weigh myself...

I know I over did it at Thanksgiving. But just on that day. I promise. I've been good and within/around my calories every day since. I've been slacking on exercising too. I am terrified to weigh myself. I am sure I am not alone. I plan on doing it today. Think positive thoughts for me today so I am not too disappointed in myself. Regardless, it will just be motivation to get back to my regular workouts and staying on target with my diet. 'Tis the season!

You can do it ! ! If you've been staying at your calories, and only messed up on Thanksgiving, your probably down some. Just let it be motivation either way. If your down, then what your doing worked. If your up then you know why and can make changes.0

I felt the same way, but I weighed in and found I'd lost 5 lbs. already. It was really motivating. I know the scale can be scary and demotivating, but it's also one way (and ONLY one!) to keep track. It helps. Picking one pair of pants that are tight sometimes can be a much better monitor of size, especially if you weight train. Good luck, and don't stress about it!
By the way, WAY TO GO on losing 14 lbs!0 -
I have felt the same thing. Maybe you need to concentrate on letting yourself be human - show yourself graciousness - I bet you would to others
Love yourself the way you are - and face the truth at the same time - its always better.
I agree with the others, too - you can do this!0 -
I gain 5 lbs over Thanksgiving but already lost 3 of them....give yourself a break ok, it was the Holidays!0

I felt the same way the Monday after Thanksgiving, by Wednesday I was like what the He**, I am just going to weigh and see where I am at so I can know if I need to kick it up a notch.
I was up a couple pounds, and have doubled up my workouts, and increased my water, and have gone down some, by next Wednesday my official weigh in, I should be back to where I was before Thanksgiving....
Point is, even if you are down, don't stress too much, just kick it in gear and push forward....0 -
I feel exactly the same way!! When I started working out, I gained about 3lbs the first week!!
I almost fell of the scale, so my husband hid it from me, I didnt really have a thanksgiving,
I was working. Been way under my cals every day this week. I've even tried eating a little
more on some days...Tomorrow I weigh in and I am terrified. But I'm thinking ahead.
If it's a bad number, I have a plan B...lol0 -
Don't be scared!
I had TWO Thanksgivings on two different days last week and I indulged whole-heartedly on both days. Every other day was business as usual as far as eating well and moving my body.
I'm down 1.2 lbs
And even if I was up a pound or two...who cares? I'm still eating right and moving my body every day for the rest of my life. It will even out in the end. Not to mention the fact that who we are and what matters most about us can not be weighed or measured.

I know the feeling I had Thanksgiving, an anniversary, my fiance's birthday, and a going away dinner all between the 25th and the 29th,needless to say my weigh in Monday was a bit high I had gained about 10 lbs. Thankfully though I've lost 3 of those and have 7 more to go to get back on the right track.0
