Why so hostile, kids? If you disagree with what you "presume" the original poster is doing, read and move on. Who made the critical folks experts on the best way for this individual to lose weight? While I am not a fan of most "doctor supervised" low calorie diets for me, I would certainly not give my feedback to someone who didn't ask. She simply was sharing her weight loss results, which are commendable. Simmer down, peanut gallery!

It was posted out of concern. OP only revealed that she is under the care of a physician once questioned. Also it's not clear if she is eating back exercise calories, but from her posts it doesn't seem so. And her weight loss so far has been extremely fast. These are all things that rang alarm bells for me. That and everyone asking how she's doing it, which might lead others to try and duplicate what she is doing if not cautioned.

Out of concern? Weren't you the one who posted "No, we are not here for encouragement and praise. What a strange thing to claim." Therefore, you aren't here to encourage or care about anyone.

Who made you the diet police? Were you hired by MFP to monitor the site for unsafe diet practices and then "teach" others? If you don't approve, then don't do it. Relax and don't be so arrogant. You could have said something like, "Wow, that's fast. I encourage you to be safe, but you can definitely see your results."
She was actually responding to a series of posts that have since been removed by mods. You have taken her statement out of context.

I would assume that 4:3 is similar to 5:2.
And with 5:2, you have two non consecutive days at 500 calories and the other 5 at maintenance.
So if 4:3 is like 5:2, you're not doing it properly and are following unhealthy, unsafe, and unsustainable weight loss practices.
We'll..... 5:2 is designed by Michael Mosbey who is actually doctor. If you followed him on PBS and if you read his book, it would make sense. Don't comment on something you are just assuming.

What is the 4:3? And what type of cardio? Sorry, i know I'm being nosy but I want your results!!! lol I've been up and down on the scale forever now and I need to see some changes!

Very unsafe dietary practice going on here. Please use this website to figure out how to lose weight the RIGHT way, so you don't end up a train wreck. http://scoobysworkshop.com/accurate-calorie-calculator/#results

you are misinformed. 5:2 is not an unsafe way to lose weight. Please go read the scientific research on it before being critical.
  • Super cool! Keep up the great work!!!

It is not unsafe and unsustainable. Many people do 4:3 initially then go to 5:2 and then when they are ready to maintain they switch to 6:1. Its healthy. And its a lifestyle change.. therefore is sustainable.

    1. Congrats!
    2. Don't let the tone of some people get you down. Some folks, even if they think they're trying to be helpful, don't know how to moderate their tone.

Calm down people. I do 5:2 and even 4:3 from time to time. Perfectly healthy and sustainable. At first the weight loss is bigger but it slow down with time.

    Great job OP

I admit that the 4:3 thing flew past my field of vision and I narrowed in on the 600 calories a day 3 days a week. 1600 x 4 plus 600 X 3 averages out to 1174 calories a day. The only concern I have at this point, is whether or not OP is eating back her exercise calories. That, and the fact that she could likely eat quite a bit more and still lose weight. But she is under the care of a physician, so I am officially out of this except to say congrats and I love her shirt too. :flowerforyou:
