I can't say I really drink any energy drinks anymore, but I have fond memories of Monster Energy drinks. The green kind were fantastic. Had such a good taste to it. I tried it recently and I don't feel the same, but, i'd kill for that taste without the "energy drink" part, haha.

Once a week, usually a Sunday morning... for no particular reason (its not like I have a roaring social life LOL)
Red Bull Sugar Free. Mid sized can.

In the interest of truth and honesty I drink about 1.25 ltrs of diet coke a day. Not the caffeine free kind.

Only when I'm in need of a big boost, so once a month or so. I drink Red Bull because they're the ones that come in the smallest size, so I can chug it and get back to what I was doing.

I have a Redbull a couple times a week. I like the buzz it gives me. Don't judge.

if espresso counts - 2x per day.

other than that - nope. I'm not going to screw around with those things. Unregulated.

in all fairness, I'll drink coffee all day. Just not any of the others. Tried a redbull once and just thought it tasted like flat cough syrup. No dice.

Never tried one, I do like to drink coconut water, kombucha, carrot juice, or emergenC vitamin powder if I need a little boost.
  • I only drink coffee, yerba mate, and b12 (i prefer the liquid form). I try to monitor my intake of those things though, to make sure that my caffeine intake doesn't get out of hand. A good way of really ODing on caffeine is to down one of those energy drinks. ;P There are energy drinks like Scheckter's lite, if you insist on using such. Scheckter's lite isn't as harmful as Monster/Red Bull, but (like mentioned above), energy drinks are not really regulated, so you can't be sure what you're putting in your body.

If you're that desperate for energy, try to avoid energy drinks. Have a cup of strong black coffee, pop a bit of B12, and you'll be good to go in no time (that is, assuming your diet is healthy). :)

Most of the time I have them twice a week, as I'm up from 2am on those days for work and rarely get enough sleep. 1 energy drink and 1 or 2 coffees (depending on if I'm at the gym or not) see me through. If it wasn't for the work hours then I don't think I'd ever have them as I don't really like them (or caffeine in general) that much. The brand "V" is quite nice though out of all of them, much nicer than Red Bull.

The rest of the week I don't have any caffeine.

Never. Closest I get is half-caf coffee, and an occasional bottled Starbucks mocha frappuccino.
  • I usually stick to drinking water, black coffee, almond milk, and green tea. But, I work two 12 hour nights shifts at the hospital a week and sometimes find that I need an Absolute Zero Monster to keep going. Don't judge me and I won't judge you. :)

I used to be addicted to fruitpunch Rockstars and the Monster teas, esp the one in the red can.. I'd drink 3-5 a day. Once I started paying attention to what I eat I let them go. If anything, my energy levels went up

I still love my coffee though :drinker:

    WHAT?!?!??!?!

Coffee = 95% of what pumps through my veins these days. Y'ALL INSANE IN THE MEMBRANE. COFFEE IS DELICIOUS.

i do the Monster Zero Ultra (0 calories) a couple times a week -- some weeks more some weeks less. i love them about 30 minutes before a 5k race or when i don't want to work out gives me enough push to get started.

i have been cutting back on my pop and energy drinks but not ready to get rid of them completely. :)

I've only ever tried a Monster energy drink once, and I had to choke it down. I was basically gagging towards the end. I've heard there are better ones, but I've never cared enough to buy more.

How can zero calorie be an "Energy" drink ? Chemical stimulant solution perhaps.

Coffee and energy drinks make me tired so they're a waste of money in my case.

Plus, I don't like the taste of any energy drink that I have tried - Red Bull, Monster, etc.

The irony in all of this is that I work at Starbucks. HA.

The same way coffee can be a zero (or near zero) calorie energy drink. The kick from both come from primarily from caffeine. Black coffee is better in my opinion but all the Starbucks-esque frappucinos and lattes are just as bad or worse for you than a monster or redbull. It's the same regarding sugar free energy drinks and "skinny" drinks at coffee shops too as those are just caffeine and artificial sweetners. Most energy drinks have also begun listing caffeine content in the nutrition facts and even for a 16oz rockstar (about 250mg caffeine), a Starbucks coffee of the same size (grande=16oz) has upwards of 400mg
