I haven't tried them personally, but years ago I did Slimfast shakes and was ravenous all the time, great for rapid weightloss but not sustainable. There seems to be quite a lot of sugar in these, maybe just some protein shakes would be better. There are plenty of flavoured versions.0

They're not worth it. Don't waste your money or your body's health on these, or any shake.
A good way to replace meals is to make your own smoothies. You can even add veggies to these ( I use a cup of spinach in mine, and you can't taste it at all) You can get more protein in by adding some powder (I use hemp protein 70%) and it will taste great and be full of filling fiber and complex carbohydrates which will keep you fuller longer.
Take the extra 2 minutes and make the shake at home! you will NOT regret it. And, your body will thank you for not punishing it with these gimmickey drinks
Edited to add: With all that sugar, the drink is almost totally made up of simple carbohydrates. This means that they break down quickly, leaving you hungry. Simple carbs will spike your blood sugar, and that causes what's known as a "sugar crash" shortly after, which is why you crave more and more foods. To keep your blood sugar steady, you should aim to eat mostly complex carbohydrates. You will notice that the sugar in most unhealthy things is nearly or equal to the amount of carbohydrates. That is a quick way to determine simple carbohydrates without even looking at the ingredient list.0 -
Thank you for your posts, ive finished the first carton today, I wont buy any more, im just not a breakfast person, I have trouble stomaching things in the morning, the shakes I can (as its a drink)_ so I will look at chucking some stuff together for my own shake as suggested, thank you again0

Have a look at my diary, I do myself a shake or smoothie every morning and add whey protein powder (at the moment strawberry flavour). I have some strange combinations, like kale, spinach, banana and raspberries. They all taste good though and frankly it is a way of getting greens that I would never eat otherwise. Fill me up a treat too!0

my dietitian and i have battles over these things. she wants me to have them at least once a day and i argue that they are horrendously sugary ( i personally try and keep sugars below 5% in anything i eat) and i insted have a low carb shake. its a fight shes never going to win
my partner makes his own smoothies using bananas, strawberrys, grapes, cottage cheese, greek yogurt, milk, peanuts, flaxseeds, walnuts and a little honey0 -
I must admit I do enjoy a shake each morning, but alongside a meal rather than in place of it. It's a bit of a treat for me because the one I have is chocolate-flavoured. It's high protein but really quite low calories and low sugar, and it's helped get me back in the habit of having a breakfast. I normally enjoy an apple and a couple of pieces of dry Ryvita alongside it (I LURRRVE dry Ryvita!).0
