Sore from Cardio - can I weight train?

Options
I'm just getting back into exercising on a regular bais. Yesterday I did a programmed run on a treadmill. I'm a bit sore today - am I okay to do a weights session today?

    yes. no. i don't know.

depends on what you have planned. is it a leg day? upper body day? full body circuit? is it a body pump class? are you going heavy, or light?

last week i did a bike ride on sunday, and dead lifted on monday. i wasn't sore going into the gym on monday, but the last heavy sets were a bit of a struggle.

generally, rule of thumb is to plan a cardio day for after a strength training day (especially leg day), if you can.

go warm up, and see how your body feels.

I'm following the NROLFW and just in the beginning stages. So it will be an all over body workout. I think I will hop on the treadmill and see if walking loosens everything up. Thank you :)

I would go, why not, especially if it's just a bit.

For me, exercising sore muscles always helped with soreness.

Yes it is fine to workout with muscle soreness. You may want to reduce the intensity a bit, lifting slightly lighter weights, but for me when I lift with sore muscles I find it makes things better.
