Diet/Exercise Making Me Cold?

Sunday I started my weight loss efforts. I eat 1200 a day as advised by MFP and make sure to make up from exercise. However, I have been freezing since I started! I know it's just me because everyone in my house is just fine. I had my thyroid checked and while on the lower end of the spectrum, it's still normal. I'm really not sure what it could be. I eat enough protein and veggies and fruits and drink enough water. Help!!

Eat more.
1200 is the bare minimum and most here tend to soon realise that it is difficult to sustain.
It is best to set your loss rate to 1Ib a week rather than 2Ibs, for a slower but more manageable loss.0 -
I agree with eating more calories. Your body is cold and needs fuel to keep it warm. I, too, get very cold if I do not eat enough :S0

Do you think you are getting enough iron in your new diet? If not it will make you cold. When they checked your thyroid did they check your iron levels and was this before or after the start of your new diet. I'm anemic and since I started working out 7 weeks ago I've notice I'm wearing my sweater in the house more and my husband always complains that I feel like ice.0

I don't think eating enough is the issue, because I am. But the iron thing is something to think about. Can we track that on MFP?0

I found the way to track iron. I have been short of the 100 goal by 30-60 every day. Maybe that is it? I have been anemic in the past before too...0 -

I am super cold all the time and I eat a lot more than that and I workout - My doctor says its because my blood pressure is so low - I am practically dead.0 -
If you search through the forum being cold while dieting seems to be a common symptom. Also, cold spells can be caused by lack of sleep.0

Ahh, that's another idea. I have always had super, super low blood pressure and now that I'm working out, it may be even lower. I'm usually always cold to an extent too but lately it's gotten much worse. Did he say it's ok though?0 -
Whatever the issue, you should see a doctor if it continues. I am not sure about iron; the only way to check if your iron is low ( either low/small red blood cells or not enough oxygen in your red blood cells ) is to have it checked at the doctor's. If you had anemia before, you could still have it. Best to have it checked for sure; otherwise you don't know. And as far as low blood pressure, the doctor can check that too.
Odds are, you probably aren't eating enough for your activity level. I get really cold too and have been since I began losing weight. I am mainly only cold at work though, but then again it is just cold in there. But sometimes I literally have to wear my winter coat and gloves while i am there, while other co workers are fine in a sweater.0 -

Have you had your thyroid checked out? That could be a sign of hypothyroidism.0
