Cereal

I'm on a cereal kick lately....I even take it for lunch at work...not sure if this is a good idea...been told it's too many carbs...thoughts? Also...what cereals do you all enjoy? I try to keep the cereal itself under 150 calories per serving and I eat it with the 30 calorie almond milk....

Wow, aprilflower18, 95 pounds lost? That's amazing - good for you! As for cereal, it doesn't work for me. When I read about it, it just doesn't seem like it's a good investment nutrition-wise. But I think everyone is different, too - what works for one, may not work for another. Keep up the good work - you're my new hero!

I've never concerned myself with the carbs in cereal, mainly because I don't look at carbs in general... but I've been eating cereal throughout my entire weight loss and I love it! Cereal is awesome!

Lately I have been loving chocolate cheerios, multi-grain cheerios... However I usually like to go for cereals with high fiber content... Natures path organics has some DELICIOUS cereals (i.e. Sunrise crunchy maple, or Flax plus red berry crunch)... All bran cranberries and clusters is also a favorite of mine.

I also use the 30 calorie almond milk, I think it tastes way better than regular milk when mixing it with cereal :drinker:

It's really great that you're using the low calorie milk. Like lynneta71 said, high in fiber and low in sugar is the best. Imo cereal is fine in moderation.

I don't eat cereal all that much. Sometimes I get in a cereal kick and I eat it for a couple days, but the milk goes bad and I get sick of the cereal and it goes stale. In fact, I still have cereal I bought in Feb 2013. And I gave my other cereals I bought last summer to my sister.

When I do eat cereal I like Honey Nut Cheerios. I also like any kind of Cheerios, really.

I've recently fallen in love with farina!
It's a hot whole wheat cereal and it keeps my full FOREVER!

Especial if I melt a slice of american cheese in it. Comes out to about 170 cal. i think...but it's good fuel that keeps me going.

I've always found an actual serving of cereal feels like a trial size. I end up eating 3 times that for a meal. =/

That being said. Do what ya like. =)
