Alternative to bananas? HELP!

Almost every healthy-twist on almost every recipe that I look up has banana in it.
That's great for pretty much everyone, but me.

I'm allergic to bananas and I want to make these things! I know that pumpkin puree (not pie filling) can be used as a substitute, but HOW MUCH DO I USE?

Has anyone ever used this substitute before? What's the conversion rate?

A BIG THANK YOU AND A HUG to everyone who can provide any help/insight on this.

Bump, because I make a cold-brew coffee protein smoothie that I add half a frozen banana too which adds carbs, which I am trying to lower my intake of! I'd love to get an answer on this as well

I use a half cup of canned pumpkin per banana called for in the recipe.
    I also use applesauce!

I'm sorry, but it'll never work between us. I need to see other banana-tolerant people.

I have a similar problem - I feel really ill shortly after I eat a banana. But I read somewhere that there is some change after banana is cooked. Gave it a try about a month ago making pancakes with a chopped banana through the batter. No detrimental effects and have been eating a few times a week since. May be worth trying a small quantity cooked?

My tongue swells and throat closes. If I pick up an UNpeeled banana, my hand swells. It's a non-negotiable allergy for me, unfortunately. :/

Bump. Also allergic to bananas. Seems like they're the key replacement in every "make this food healthy!" recipe.

BUT... BUT... BUT... It's just a little banana allergy!
Plus the rest of my laundry list of allergies...

Yep, I love missing out on severe intestinal distress and throat swelling.

Just think about how much replacement food you've been saved from though!! Ok, now if you were allergic to cauliflower, THAT would be something.

I just hate bananas. The taste, blech. Woo for the anti-banana movement!

Banana peels make me gag. True story.

The pureed pumpkin and applesauce sound like good alternatives.

I'm pretty sure that you're not supposed to eat the peels
