Calculating calories burned based on Heart Rate

I do apologize, as I am sure this has been asked before. I searched, and searched, but again cannot just get a straight answer. Here is where fellow MFPers come in
I got a new HRM today, didn't realize I had to set it up first in order to track calories (dumb me) but I did know my target HR so I just went with that and stayed within for 30 minutes
. Is there a way for me to calculate my calories burned based on average HR or anything like that?

Hello there!! I just bought a HRM watch and it is really neat. You can see the time, heart rate, and calories burned. It was only 20.00 to so that was even better. I know I did not answer your question but I just thought you might like to know of another device.0

Yeah mine does that too. My problem is that I just didn't program it before this workout, so I was wondering if I had any alternatives. It's okay though, I will just do it correctly tomorrow.0
