I'm 5'5" and 184 lbs. So I am in that same ball park. At some point I would love to be down to 140, but my cloths fitting would be great!0

Anyone can feel free to add me too 5'3", started at 189, currently hovering around 172, goal weight is 140. Hoping to be in the 160s by the end of March!0

I'm 5'3 and 192. I haven't been in the 160s since middle school! I can't wait to get back down. I have been overweight my entire life. I have PCOS0

I'm in this club 5' 3.5", and currently hovering between 162-163. Right now I'm just trying to count calories and force myself to exercise at least a few times a week. Nothing drastic. I am eating healthier though too, b/c I found highly processed foods (or really just pre-made foods) made me hungrier after eating them, even though they were generally higher in calories to begin with. I haven't cut them out completely, but I no longer sit down with a bag of chips. In fact I don't have chips in the apartment anymore.
I also eat breakfast now every day. Sometimes I used to skip, partly b/c I get up at 7-8am and had to be at work by 9am latest and partly b/c I used to eat really late which always made me feel full when I woke up, and ravenous around 11. I don't generally eat a big breakfast (250-300 calories usually including coffee) but for me it's the perfect portion size b/c I always want to eat more at lunch/dinner.0 -
Hello all! Similar story here: 5'2", 170, with a goal weight of 138 (my highest weight was around 205). For me, physical activity and nutrition are linked. Without one, the other is a mess. I ended up gaining about 15 pounds this fall due to a broken ankle, moving and my dissertation. But I've been getting closer to being back on track since January and am grateful to have seen this post!
In terms of my current status, I am letting MFP convince me that I have been eating too few calories. It feels counterintuitive but perhaps the scale is not moving because I am moving too much on too little fuel (cardio {Zumba, water aerobics, the Devil Jillian Michaels} 50 min/5 days a week, strength: 60 min/1 day a week, stretch: 60 min/1 day a week). After subtracting calories from working out, I've been eating an average of 1380 per day but after gaining two pounds last week, I am feeling persuaded to listen to MFP and eat closer to its target!
I have celiac disease so gluten and I are not friendly. You all like-shaped persons and I however, let's be friends!0 -
I'm 26yo, 5'3" and about 160lbs. Just getting back on the wagon after gaining some weight this last year. I'm aiming for my high school/college weight of 140lbs, and any motivation would be awesome!0

I'm 5'4. 168.8lbs... Goal weight 125. Would be ok at 145. My hardest challenge is to actually get enough calories, I've always gone one 1 to two meals per day, hardly ever ate breakfast, but starting the beginning of this month I've been getting into a routine of making sure I eat 3 meals a day, one of them a protein drink, and then eat healthy snacks throughout the day. Plus I've been trying to exercise to wii fitness, and am starting to see the scale go down! Which it's been pretty stable for months. So excited to get back into my size 12 and then 9 jeans once again!
Would love any new friends for added motivation!0 -
Hi! If people are still adding people I'm up for it. :P
I'm 5'2" and about 165 pounds (unless my scale needs a new battery, in which case add ten pounds). I started on this site this week because the one I used to use forever ago has been absorbed and ruined (also broken) by a horrible website.
I'm currently just watching what I eat (and finding out why metabolism is so low), and playing Zumba on the Wii. Once I get a better grip on things and the snow finally leaves (shout-out to anyone else with SAD), I think I'd like to start running. I used to belong to Goodlife back when I could afford it, and it was really motivational (once I got there).
My advice: make sure whatever you're doing is fun, keep the same excitement level you started with, and if you're looking for a gym find one with a sauna, because oh my god it's worth it.
Good luck to you, and to us all!0 -
I'm 46yrs old, was 161lbs. I'm 5'2.5 and weigh 133lbs now. I lost 28lbs using the Biggest Loser site and have been maintaining since Feb 2013 with the help of my trusty Fitbit who lets me know if I've moved around enough to earn the cals I planned in the night before!
I wanted gentle sensible loss after 30yrs of feast/famine. I knew how to lose wt but not maintain so set about a REAL change not one with an end date.
I lost on 1400cals/day, some walking and gym 3x wk but never hard core cardio which I hate. Just a combo of eliptical and weight machines but really just properly tried to be more active (using loo furtherst away at work etc). Best investment is a mini tramp for home as you can clock up steps/exercise while dinner is cooking plus it makes you giggle!
I had hols and some w/e's more relaxed as I needed a lifestyle which allowed for these things not one which was utterly derailed every time my rigid routine got challenged, not least because these things are part of life and need to be incorporated not avoided until some magic goal is reached (never to be seen again if you live that way of course).
Don't rush, don't make changes you don't like and don't panic - you'll get there - softly softly catchee monkey!0 -
Nice to have a group at similar stage, will add some of you to help us get to goal! I started at 211 in September, now at 174 through calorie counting and new found love of exercise! Never thought I would ever say that???? please feel free to add me!0

Thanks for all the inspirational stories! Lots of success in this thread.
I started at just under 200lb in January last year, now down to 137lb (I'm 5"3). My original goal was 140 but I changed to 130 goal once I got close and realised I could do to lose a bit more. However this last bit I'm not trying to lose that fast mainly just keep up with running and gym work and carry on eating healthy (most of the time )
Feel free to add me if you want!0 -
