Hello, my name is Lisa and, after about 8 years of doing little to no exercise and an annual appointment with my family doctor I discovered this superb ap! When I met my husband over 17 years ago, I was a size 6. After two daughters and 8 years of little exercise, I was tightly fitting into a size 12. At 47 years old, I'll be happy if I get back down to an 8 and STAY there. My doctor didn't even mention that I should lose weight so I told HIM, "Doc, as you said I gained weight since last time." He tried making excuses for me about the holidays. "Nonsense! I've gained too much weight and I need to lose quite a bit. You're not doing your job if you don't tell me that. I want to be healthier and stop taking my 10 mg of Lisinopril for my hypertension." He agreed and suggested a 15 lb loss would bring my BMI to a more reasonable level after which I told him that's not enough for me. He agreed and stated that if I continued to gain weight I am risking diabetes and my glucose levels were high enough to be too close. The next day, I looked up different aps on my phone and found this one to hold me accountable to myself for what I eat and how much I exercise. It took me several years to finally say, GET GOING! I'm tired of being overweight and eating too much just out of boredom. I have cut out a lot of calories and walk/job every day for an hour if I can. My doctor recommended a 1200 calorie diabetic diet and suggested I make some alterations to it to fit my lifestyle. I am pushing myself harder than the doctor suggested because I'm on a mission to lose 30 more lbs. I've already lost 10. Wish me luck! I know I can do this and I need to for my daughters, my husband and most importantly myself. I know there will be bumps in the road and I'll stall in my weight but having a wardrobe of older, smaller clothes (still in style) is also a motivator.

You can do this. I am a size 12 right now, and I'd eventually like to get back into my size 4 clothes. I am willing to give my weight loss journey a year. I know you can do it too. Good luck!0
