With so many posts about lent it got me wondering what others who might not celebrate lent do for caloric goals and fasting?
I was in the checkout line at the grocery and my cashier was a Sikh, it just had me wondering.
>>No religion please, just food in here.<<
Really interested in hearing about others besides the lentil crowd :drinker:

I read this wrong and thought we were eating Muslims, Jews, Hindu and other non-Catholics and thought there was a brand new version of the Inquisition going on

You shouldn't eat people....
Word. People are gross.0 -
<<< Also expected this to be a "soylent green" thread.0

You shouldn't eat people....
Word. People are gross.
100% keto friendly, though.
And very high in saturated fat if they're from the states.0 -
You shouldn't eat people....
Then you aren't doing it right. :smokin:0 -
Are Catholics the ones eating Muslims, Jews, Hindu, and other non-Catholics?0
-
Personally, I don't enjoy eating Muslims, Jews and other non Catholics. I prefer Roman Catholic but any of them will do in a pinch.0

I tend to like mine with some fava beans and a nice chianti \m/0 -

In all seriousness, in response to this:
Lent has nothing to do with caloric goals. Other religions do not eat certain foods 24/7 because of religious belief. But seeing yesterday how many non-religious folks are giving up a food item for Lent shows me how mainstream it is becoming. I'm sure eventually someone will write a book called "The Lent 40-Day Diet" and profit handsomely.0 -
I'm a vegetarian.0

This is chit-chat, fun, and games. This is no place for seriousness. Chit only please. Or chat. Or fun. Never really seen anything i could call a game here.
I would never let someone's religion keep me from eating them.0 -
I thought this was about eating people......or "eating" people in the dirty sense.
I am disappoint.0 -

Congrats on being the first to make it dirty! LOL! :laugh:0 -

I wonder......if a person eats all the carbs, would eating them make them not keto-friendly because they have carbs in them?
Someone needs to do research on that because if I have to eat someone for survival, I don't want to ruin my keto streak!

Thank goodness for proper punctuation.
That's all I got.0 -
Growing up, the parents of a friend would give up alcohol for Lent. They always lost weight, but spent 40 days being really grumpy. They probably should have taken up AA for Lent.0

Teehee, some very heated topics get placed in here though! I seem to remember one about child support...0 -
I grew up Catholic, but am now a born again christian (only believe in the teachings of the bible, and not nessesarily religious christian doctrine). I never quite got the lent thing, but now that I know most of the teachings of the bible I understand it's "denying" the flesh kind of thing, especially if it's an addiction of choice.0

I'm not much for eating people or lentils, but they seem like they would complement each other in a soup or stew.0
-
You shouldn't eat people....
... in the not fun way0 -
So far, I have learned from this thread that eating people is bad, but eating people is fun.
So... you all can just eat me!
*I'm Protestant so I think I will probably taste like chicken.0 -

I really expected this thread to be from the Hannibal fandom. Of course, they don't discriminate by religion, they just care if you're rude.0

So, nobody has any fasts or food restrictions?0
