Why would you want to replace butter - just make it fit into your calories (butter tastes better).0 -

- why not try it and see how it turns out. There's nothing better than experimental cooking (except of course when it doesn't work).
I remember once spending 3 hours preparing and cooking a spinach and potato dish - what a waste of 3 hours (time I will never get back). In the end I threw it in the bin and fried up a packet bubble and squeak.
Good luck.0 -
No, you can't. Butter is used in baked goods, not only for flavor, but often to provide a little moisture.0
-
I doubt whatever you're making that's supposed to have 150g of butter in it has the butter as a flavour enhancer.
My money is on that it is in there for essential, structural reasons.0 -

And you think Pam tastes better? Please don't say you think it is low cal.
1minute spray = 37.8g of fat = 340calories
much less than
150g of butter which is 121.5g of fat and 1094 calories0 -
Thing is you need 150g of Pam. Time it as you spray it on a scale and then to the cal math.0

im not going to waste an entire can of it right now
since its in gas form wont it just evaporate?0 -
The calories in an average McDonald's meal is infinitesimal compared to the calories of China's entire vegetable production per year.
Using your figures, butter is lower in calories...0 -

No. You can replace butter with applesauce, coconut oil, plain Greek yogurt.0

Have you not made it yet. It would have been quicker to pop to the shops and buy some butter!!
And if you had walked then screw the extra calories - you're just eating them back. :laugh:0 -

I live 120km from the nearest supermarket and i can't drive my car right now because i put the wrong octane gas in it, so im going to use the pam and i will report back and post my results.

Have you not learnt your lesson already?
Maybe make something else for lunch?0 -
NO.
Pam contains "propellant", which is food-grade alcohol, nitrous oxide, carbon dioxide, and/or propane.
Do you really want to ingest that as a substitute for butter just so you can eat a ton of crap??? :noway:0 -

To get the 121.5g of fat you'd need 166 seconds of Pam Spray.
Make the recipe without the butter.
Divide it into 10 servings.
Eat it in 1/4 serving bites.
That would equate to 4 seconds of Pam Spray Per bite.
Take a bite followed by 4 seconds of Pam Spray in your mouth.0 -

Pam is just for creating a no-stick surface. It is not for replacing butter or margarine or oil in recipes.0
