I am going to do Jillian Michaels Making the Cut. I need to change things up so I am going to follow that for a while. It has been a long time since I have done it. I am interested to see how I do :-)

My 30DS has come to a standstill. Managed day 2, level 2 (badly) but I'm now deciding if I have a chest infection. Feel like I've been whacked on the ribs with a plank of wood!

is the 30 day shred the workout by Jillian Michaels? I have 20-25 pounds to go to my goal, hoping to get there by my 5th wedding anniversary in feb, I am looking for anything and everything to help me get there.

30 Shred or any dvd doing circuit training using weights should not be done everyday! DO it everyother day doing either her Banish Fat Boost Metabolism dvd or interval cardio training in between. IF you do Shred everyday you will be more likely to over train and get injured :-)

    I'm agreeing with this!!!!!!!!!!!

Day 1 - DID IT. Not too bad. Legs and top of triceps kind of shaky. By the end of the evening I am sooooo sore.
Day 2 - Oh boy do I hurt. I don't think I'm doing it today. (Didn't do anything that day)
Day 3 - Still sore but DID IT. Was rough but got bad intestinal cramping that lasted about 15 mintues after (I have IBS so it could be just me)
Day 4 - Skipped. Had other things come up and couldn't do my exercises. Not as sore though.
Day 5 - DID IT. I had just finished a cardio part and got down on the floor to do the abs and my head started throbbing out of the blue. I stopped and let it subside and went back to it.
Day 6 - Might hop on the treadmill or try one of her other DVDs.

    Yep, it the 'evil' Jillian!!!!!

I've had to cut short my 30DS! NOooooooooooo! Managed 2 days on level 2 and now I have sore ribs!
I so want to get through level 2. Hopefully back on it next week.

    How's everyone else doing???

made it through level 1 day 9 last night - felt pretty strong even though I ate like crap for dinner
and rode the stationary bike right before the workout. Looking forward to level 2
to change it up a bit.

Absolutely not at all. We welcome you! It's just a silly challenge. If you don't finish it, I won't punish you!!!
I've had to stop, I've got sore ribs, but I'm hoping to get back to it next week (I've had lots of stops and starts, so I've been on Level 1 for at least 2 months!!!!).

level 1 day 10 done last night ready for level 2
  • I lost my dvd, so after 3-4 months off - I did L2D1 today. Ouch! Muscle burn! But I really hate level 1, and L2 is easier for me, so i am starting with L2, and then going back to L1 or L3, depending... I walk too, so I will probably alternate. I know after the 4th day it gets alot easier for me. But i have never done more than 10 days, so I would like to do all 30 this time.

I'm struggling to get back into the 30DS, which is very poor as I started the thread!!!!! But I'm hoping to get back into it next week, but I'm going to start back at level 1 (I know, I'm a wimp).
I'm now also getting into Leslie Sasone. I can only get her 'Walk at Home' on youtube, being in Britain. But if I carry on I might try and get some of her stuff thru US import.

It is so much fun..we see ourselves ballroom dancing for a life time :)

  • Level 2 easier!!!!!!!! Are you mad????

LOL!! Yes! for me, it is! I have so little upper body/arm strength, that those awful weight circiuts KILL me! (in L1) I can handle the stuff in L2 so much better, for some reason... I need to do that awful L1 someday, though. :grumble: hava happy.

I didn't do 30DS last week.... I feel like since I did Level 1 so much, my body didn't get sore anymore. I mixed it up & went to the gym today. I might do Level 2 tomorrow and see if I "feel it", you know what i mean?

I'm going to have to go back to level 1. Level 2 just kills me. Planks are NOT my thing! Got loads of stuff to so this week (plus I finish work for 2 weeks) so I'm getting back into it next week.

    Keep it up everyone!!!!!!

did day 1 level 2 this morning after taking a couple days off from level 1.
not sure yet whether it was harder or not. I didn't preview level 2 so some of
my time was spent trying to figure out what was being done. I do know
one thing I have terrible balance!

  • I missed several days... gone too much! But I hammered Level 2, Day 2 today! Feels good to be done for the day! *gasp* I am aiming for every other day on 30DS... I am so shaky, now, though. Maybe I should do it after i eat?

    great job Kay!
You are right at the same place I am. I'm hoping to do it everyday for 10 days straight then take a
little break before starting level 3
    good luck to you!

Level 2 day 2 done. Definetly tougher for me than level 1. Hopefully It gets better after a couple more days.

  • Level 2, day 3: DONE!! I felt like I was gonna DIE about 1/2 way through, but kept going... Now I have to go eat something, I am sooo shaky. I will probably skip tomorrow, and walk instead. I wonder if the altitude has anything to do with getting so shaky, or is it my asthma, or a sugar low, or just plain out-of-shape-ness? :grumble: well, I am still getting it done, so I am happy with that! :drinker:

Everyone seems to be doing to do so well!!! I am doing pants. I'm going to stick to level 1 for now, Level 2 was just too hard.
I know, I know, I'm a wimp. I've started 'Walk at Home' - Leslie Sasone and I'm really enjoying it (unfortunately I can only get it on youtube 'cos I'm in England. If the weight loss continues, I may invest in some imports!).
