Nope not the burger ones but actually "gas pump" thieves. A friend of mine was gassing up her vehicle in San Jose yesterday, left her purse in her car (never left the vehicle alone), then a car pulled up beside it, snuck in her passenger door and took her purse.
Now she's stressed out about all the info on her out there and possible identity theft.
Just a heads up.

    Holy crap! Thanks for sharing! I don't carry a purse but I do carry a wallet. I never leave my vehicle while pumping gas either, and would never have throught about this. I'll be sure to lock my doors even when pumping gas!

    I always lock my car when pumping gas. I've heard about this happening.

    This has been happening for years. Saw video of one a few years back. I always lock my car when I get out, even just for pumping gas.

    Ppl are going to extremes..and now they have this green dot moneypak scams. They called my mom pretending to be the IRS... It's crazy the length ppl will go

    Happened to my ex about 10 years ago. At the end pump, off the gas stations cameras. Thieves went straight across the street and spent like $700 at Dillards within minutes, while she was talking to the Police (we didn't have to pay).



    ETA - I want slider burgers now!

    Yes, and besides keeping the car locked when you are pumping gas, keep it locked when you are inside, waiting for someone, or making a phone call. You don't want someone to open your car door and get you. Also, clip your purse to the grocery cart by using the little kids safety belt.

    One perk to living in Oregon. We can't pump our own gas.
