    Super Sized Big Beautiful Woman

meaning really, really, morbidly obese woman...forgive me if it sounds rude, but the woman who i wonder how her legs hold her up given how heavy she is.

Super Sized? People actually call each other that and it's supposed to be a nice thing? That sounds like an insult to me. :ohwell:

It's not my favorite term by any means - and really, I don't like any of the other sayings/terms/etc for women who happen to be bigger AND good looking - but I don't really think it's something that should get under your skin too much, just because of the intent of the person who says it. Are they saying it in a way that is demeaning, or with malicious intent, or trying to be offensive, or any other negative thing? If it's a guy you're dating, probably not. He's probably trying to compliment you, not offend you or fetishize you. So take it as a compliment and know that he's just a guy who maybe didn't use the best words, but had good intentions. Focus on the "beautiful" part and then just let the knowledge that he likes your body be an extra bonus. It's always good to feel desired, no matter what size you are.

My biggest beef with threads like this is the undercurrent of sex-negativity. Having sexual preferences, even fetishes, doesn't make one a "degenerate", no matter how loudly bigots proclaim such.

The title, in itself, isn't flattering to everyone and it isn't insulting to everyone. Just state your preferences and avoid dealing with those that don't respect them as much as possible!

There isn't anything deviant about sexual fetishes, but being with someone or just talking to someone because they fulfill your sexual fetish is degrading. Especially if you use a term that refers to a sexual fetish when first meeting them. Automatically, I am not just a beautiful woman you are interested in but you just told me you only really want to see me naked and most women will be offended by a comment that leaves that taste in their mouths.

I agree with this. I have medically diagnosed morbidly obese friends who say they love their curves. Clearly they're trying to feel better about their shortcomings, because they will, in the same conversation, say they don't like the way they look. They're trying to justify their weight by making it sound nicer than it really is.

I've never been very overweight, and I've always been the classic hourglass shape. Usually I wear a size 4-6, but I can't tell people I'm curvy anymore because they assume I'm overweight. My word has been hijacked, and I am being very candid when I say I really resent this. I'm not athletic, I'm not overweight, I'm not average, and I'm not slender. I'm curvy. BUT I CAN'T SAY THAT ANYMORE.

I also hate the "real woman have" comments. Real women are women who are alive, that's it. I saw an article once titled, "Real Women DON'T Have Curves." It was about women who are underweight and people telling they're too skinny all the time. Real women are just women, the shape of their bodies don't decide if they're real or fake.

I completely relate. I don't use terms like curvy or thick to describe myself because most girls who do are severely overweight. However, guys have called me curvy/thick and I have found that most men do not relate that term to fat in the least bit.

I also hate the "real women have" comments. Real women have vaginas. That's it.

I love the words thick and curvy and I think they are flattering, positive, sexy, and descriptive words. I refer to myself as thick and curvy. When I was bigger I didn't mind the term BBW at all. I think part of it is I had a positive self image and thought it was the most accurate description of my body type. It wasn't an attempt to make up for shortcoming, etc, and I never felt fetishized, ever, probably because I was approached as a person, not a desire or fantasy. I can't say no one ever made rude comments when I was bigger (or even now)... I just didn't stick around long enough to finishing hearing what they had to say because it wouldn't have been worth my time.

Agreed, but that's the term. It's definitely a fetish I can't wrap my head around.

^^ This ^^ Thank you. Sex is normal and fun.

    /end thread

What is the difference between preferences and fetishes?

If a white man exclusively dates black women, is it a fetish or a preference?

Some quarters of the media routinely use the prefix "beautiful blonde" is this deemed unflattering?

If someone likes people of stature outside of the accepted norms the media have forced down our throats, does that make them a sexual deviant?

Fetish...at least when it becomes somethig of clinical significance...is something you MUST have in order to be turned on...often a paraphelia (i.e. a shoe fetish) but not always. The term is mostly used to indicate something that is outside the norm (i.e. sadomasochism, liking your lover to dress in a bunny suit, be your slave, etc).

That doesn't necessarily mean having a fetish is something "deviant" or of clinical significance. For instance, if, say, a woman gets turned on when her man takes her over his knee and spanks her, BUT she can still get turned on at all the usual suspects (i.e. suggestive smiles, eye contact, certain touches, certain turns of phrase, certain body parts/phisyques/etc), it's just a fetish (the over the knee spanking) and not a clinically significant event, but it could be seen as "deviant" depending on your moal compas.

At least, that's the way I view it.

I actually use this term for myself and I have no qualms about it. The reason I use this term is because it is accurate. I am severely morbidly obese. Curvy or thick makes me sound like I have some hour glass figure. I have rolls, not curves. I do not use it in a positive nor negative way. Just an accurate portrait of my size. A woman of a mere 160 lbs can be classified as a BBW, or curvy or what not. I do feel simply saying I am a Big Beautiful Woman does not really give a full clarification. I also feel using the term morbidly obese, while clinical, just feels negative to me. It's like saying I'm so fat I am about to die. Lol. So I go with a term that is a reflection of myself. I am beautiful, big and a woman, but I am a super sized one. I have no desire to gain, and would love to be a healthy weight again. I fight my addiction to food every day. I feel that this term is neither positive nor negative in itself until it is put into context.
