You won't. Your measurements will be smaller, but the shape will remain.
  • You are a typical hourglass, which is very rare! I would imagine that when you lose weight your measurements won't be so extreme but I don't think you will lose your natural shape. Your hips and bust may get small but your waist will too.

I agree. I have a similar body shape and am lucky I tend to gain or lose everywhere. I think most people stay pretty much the same shape when they lose.

I have lost 116 pounds in just under 2 years. Your "curves" will remain although they change some. It is hard to explain. I will warn you of some unpleasant side effects of extreme weight loss. Many people (myself included) although not all, experience a ridiculous amount of hanging excess skin so mentally be aware that there is a chance that can happen. I look fine in clothing but outside of clothing it is not pretty. No amount of weight lifting will help it either, and my doctor agrees.

Wants to lose weight without changing *proportions* is probably more accurate.
I started at 240lbs with a hip/waist ratio of 0.71 and I am 168lbs now with EXACTLY THE SAME ratio. In the last year I lost 5 inches off my waist and 7.5 inches off my hips.

I'm proportionately the same, but a lot smaller.

If it wasn't obvious, I want to lose some of my measurements. If you read again, I'm worried about losing my curves, particularly my hip area. I know I'll lose inches (I want to) I just don't want to lose my shape
  • I've lost 50lbs:-

    43/44" chest
    34.5" waist
    44/45" hips

    Now:-
    39.5" chest
    29.5-30" waist.
    40/41" hips.

I don't know, I started this journey an hourglass at 163 pounds. I was 39-29-40.

Now with 23 pounds down I am 36-27-36. So I've lost it to an extent, but I'm very happy with the results. A general rule of thumb is wherever you store the most fat is where you will lose it most.
