Resistance Bands can be Dangerous!!

If any of you use resistance bands in your workout routine….DO NOT but the Gold’s Gym brand!!

I’ve had mine for less than three months. I was using it and it broke, snapped back and hit me in the arm real good! Lol. It happened so fast, I didn’t have time to panic. It honestly didn’t even hurt that much. Got up, grabbed a different band and continued the work out.

This is like an hour after it happened:

This is about a day after. Got a little darker:

I knew I should’ve spent the extra money and bought the nice high quality ones from the P90X people!! Lesson learned. I’ll be ordering some soon through Beach Body! I’ll post any bad experiences I may have with them but hopefully that won’t happen!

That looks like it hurts... I have seen some bad reviews on the resistance bands because of that too. I bought some but don't really use them because they don't seem to provide that much resistance for me.

Thanks for the help with the pics :)
Well I'm currently doing P90X. I'm not able to do a pull up yet which is a part of quite a few of the work outs. So they recommend using resistance bands instead until you're ready to do a pull up. So I kinda have to use them while I'm on this program! A little scared to use them now lol but I'm just gonna look into some better ones and hopefully that'll work!

Thanks for posting. I user resistance bands quite a bit and have found that the Gold's brand, in general, do not hold up very well. I've never used ones like that though, so I've never gotten smacked with a hard piece like that. Won't be buyng any more from Golds!

We had a different Gold's Gym resistance band and it snapped after about two months of use. It was the red/black one.
