I woke up today feeling good, healthy, happy, lots of energy. My week has been a success thus far, I've done some type of exercise everyday and I've watched my diet. Today was a good day, until I was still hungry after lunch!! Cue ominous music. I knew I needed something a little more than what I brought for lunch (wheat pasta with fresh mozzarella and tomatoes). So I took a stroll to my work's cafeteria...did I get something healthy like carrot sticks, a small salad, some yogurt?? Nooooooo, that would be too smart and reasonable. Did I get a chocolate, peanut butter moose brownie with caramel on top??? Of course I did!!! Ugh. I ate more than half and then threw the rest away out of pure disgust. Why did I do that?!?!
I don't want to lose 50+ pounds or anything, I merely want to slim down and tone up, maybe lose a pants size. But I am NEVER going to do it if I keep this up!!! It is so frustrating!
Any advice???

Look at the bright side: you only ate half and you can make up for it tonight with a workout. Its ok to splurge! Just make it fit into your day! Maybe plan on having more protein with your meal tomorrow and you won't feel so hungry after!0

yeap... use the sugar from the brownie to put in a couple extra miles on the treadmill.0

So you slipped up, its ok. But dont concentrate on it. If it makes you feel better, add some time to your workout and burn off the extra calories. You have had a good week! Be proud of that and decide to do better tomorrow!0

I know it can be quite frustrating. However dont be hard on yourself. Its ok to indulge once in a while as long as your focus to exercise (cardio & strength) is intact, there is no stopping you from loosing weight and toning up. Exercise should be a positive thing and going to the gym should not be difficult as long as you train your mind to enjoy that activity.
Its a great feeling after a 20 min brisk walk/run and using some weight to tone your muscles...its like taking a shower...its make you feel all fresh and light. So keep exercising and enjoy it, and you will see soon enough how your body takes that shape.0 -
Check this out! I took my dad out to breakfast this morning. I took him to a place similar to IHOP. He ordered an ommelette. So I order Chorizo and eggs. That's about 1200 Galories. I'm supposed to keep my calories under 1300. So, how do I feel about that? I am super excited, cause i'm going swimming for lunch. I'm feeling strong!! I'm going to swim until my heart feels like is going to pop out. Then tonight I'm gonna hit the treadmill. I'm gonna burn no less than 350 Calories. At the end of the day I will be real close if not under my 1300 hundred calories. So, my advice to you, go swimming and then hit the tredmill and be happy!!! Add me as a friend.0

Give yourself a break. Don't look at it as "being bad" or "slipping up". Unless you won't be eating sweets or chips or fast food ever again, give yourself the freedom to have these foods every now and then. Having that brownie isn't going to prevent you from burning fat or toning your muscles. You have to give in once in a while in order to keep your sanity and to really make this a lifestyle change rather than a quick-fix diet.0

Thanks guys. I know it isn't that bad, its just a stupid move. Plus, I didn't even feel satisfied or anything after, I felt gross! But I do plan a workout tonight...not swimming ;-)...but a bootcamp at my aunt's house. So it will be all good. I just wonder why I only listen to the voices in my head that have a sweet tooth :-)0

Actually I've found that I start to plateau if I'm super strict. When take those splurges, I end up losing a little more. You're metabolism needs a little jump start every now and then. It's not the end of the world. You should see what I had for lunch today. Lunch of CHAMPS, that's all I have to say about that!0

Eh... we all have those days where we slip up. Try not to feel too guilty about it. Instead, get right back on the horse tomorrow. Whatever you do, don't throw in the towel. Everyone makes mistakes and everyone deserves a splurge once in a while. Just move on! You can do it!
