Coconut oil and lemon honey water

I have come across a couple of articles regarding the uses of coconut oil. They say the benefits are so wonderful you can and should add it to your coffee. The other topic was drinking lemon and honey water first thing in the morning. Has anyone tried either of these? Any thoughts, suggestions, reviews?

Thank you in advance.

No, I generally rely on proven diet and exercise over alternative medicine methods.

Personally I like cooking some things with coconut oil, and adding lemon and honey to your water will just flavor and add calories to your water.

One adds coconut oil and/or unsalted butter
to morning coffee or tea to make it "bullet-proof".
The calories from the fat(s) helps one to feel 'satiety'.
My diet is LowCarb/HighFat, and drinking morning beverages this way
helps me achieve my Fat macro of 65% of my daily calories.
For the same purpose, I also make "fat bombs" with coconut oil,
Baker's 100% cocoa bars, and stevia.
    Best wishes!

Well, this is how this **** goes...."X seems to show some health benefits as it relates to Y and Z...guess we should just start dumping **** loads of X on everything then." Coconut oil is a great source of medium chain triglycerides which is a good thing...but it's still fat and it's still 120 calories per Tbsp. There's nothing magical about it...it is delicious and I cook with it daily but dumping Tbspsns of the stuff into your coffee is just about absurd.

Drink lemon and honey in your water if you like it...but agin...nothing magical here. There are no magic weight loss potions...there just aren't.

Nothing wrong with flavoring drinks, if you have the calories to spare.

Coconut oil, lemon and honey are all healthy foods. However, in regards to weight loss, unless you have a specific health issue, all you need is a calorie deficit.

I use 1 tsp. of extra virgin coconut oil when cooking my tilapia & a few other proteins. Coconut oil has many health benefits. http://authoritynutrition.com/top-10-evidence-based-health-benefits-of-coconut-oil/.

Yes, it is good to drink a glass of water first thing in the morning - it revs up your metabolism to get you going. It also begins your daily water of intake of 8+ glasses a day!

    Lemon's Benefits
Adding lemon to water is an easy way to get some of this fruit's nutritional benefits. Lemons are low in saturated fat and sodium and are also a good source of folate, potassium and vitamin C. Folate is a water-soluble B vitamin known to prevent neural tube defects during pregnancy; it also may prevent cognitive decline, cancer, certain psychiatric illnesses and cardiovascular conditions. Potassium builds protein and muscle, maintains normal body growth and controls the electrical activity of the heart. And lastly, vitamin C is needed for the growth and repair of tissues in all parts of the body, notes MedlinePlus. As an antioxidant, it contains nutrients that block damage caused by free radicals, which may play a role in cancer, heart disease and arthritis.
