BEST MUSIC YOU HAVE NOT HEARD

Hey, all. What is the one band, artist or album, regardless of genre, you think people DON'T know about but should give a chance????

As a fan of all music, this is a hard one for me but I would start with old school thrash and the band would be IRON REAGAN or country/folk and list AUDRA MAE.

Candlemass. It's doom metal. They sound kind of like if Black Sabbath had a baby with Iron Maiden.

Thunder - Classic British rock at it's best. Their timing was off, they got their break just as grunge hit. 5 years earlier they'd have been massive.

He really is fairly well-known if not particularly successful (?) but I think people who like Bruno Mars, Adele, etc, would be into Daniel Merriweather.

His music is not *MY* usual kind of thing but I love it.

It's so weird to me to see people talk about a band that I first saw at a gym as a teenager Lol. Good times!

If you like a more mellow vibe and enjoy good music with your coffee, I nominate: Sam Smith and Raleigh Ritchie.

Hell yes. Along with the entire doom genre. Solitude Aeturnus, Ahab, etc
  • Tygers of Pan Tang.
  • Last year I caught a GREAT Aussie rock band in a small Brooklyn club. They are ELECTRIC MARY. If you dig Guns and Roses, give them a listen. I also saw ORANGE GOBLIN, a direct descendent of Sabbath and all things sludgy.

Motion City Soundtrack is so fun to listen to. They've been around for awhile but a few people I know have heard off them.
And my favorite local bands is The Icarus Account. Acoustic two man group. Lovely voices.

Can't. They'll go mainstream then I'll hate them.
  • I am giving a listen to some of the suggestions in this thread and admit you people have interesting and eclectic tastes! Keep them coming. If you like FUNNY songs and great acoustic stuff a la Tenacious D, you MUST check out Stephen Lynch and also Black and White Cookies, a local outfit.

Yeah Thunder were awesome, saw them at Donnington one year, fantastic stuff
    Terrorvision, another great band
