eating too much white rice

i eat a lot of white rice daily up to 3 cups, i know it is way too much, could u please give me any other option, i dont like brown rice , need to stop sabotaging myself with white rice please help

Honey, I feel your pain! I'm a HUGE fan of rice! Some things I've tried (with varying success):
Mix the brown and white rice about 50/50. It cuts down on the nuttyness of the brown, while cutting some cals from the white. You can do this with wild rice as well. There are TONS of other rices out there as well: there's a green chinese bamboo rice that I LOVE but it's difficult to find. Or sweet black Thai rice, which I buy at my local Amish bulk food market.
Barley! I love barley, and have been eating a lot of it instead of rice. I treat it the same way: butter, soy sauce, salsa, whatever I fancy that day.
Orzo pasta: It's a similar texture to white rice, and you can get it in whole grain.
Mix the rice with lentils or black beans. Since they're high in fiber and protein, they fill you up faster. One of my favorite too-lazy-to-cook meals is rice and black beans. Throw it in the rice cooker and it's done in 30 with no more input from me

I'm a big rice fan as well but have been trying to stay away from it. Have you tried sweet potatoes? They are fairly low in calories and are delicious baked.0

Cauliflower rice. I gave of starch a while ago. No bread, pasta, grains, sugar etc... cauliflower rice is my savior. I can make it in just a few minutes in my Vitamix. I mix it with spinach and grass fed butter. Yum. Or use it anywhere you would normally use rice.

I second the cauliflower option. Steam it then pulverize it in a food processor. Mix in a wedge of Laughing Cow cheese and it is seriously delicious. You feel like you're doing something bad and it is SO good!0

Coming from a traditional Asian family, I eat rice with almost everything. I've learned to cut down on it by pairing it with other foods that are very filling.
When I'm really craving rice, sometimes I'll just mix it with a bit of soy sauce and some sliced bananas. It sounds weird, but it's good. Since you have the savory taste coming from the soy sauce and the sweetness coming from the bananas, I'm usually not tempted to binge on a dessert after.
Paring rice with soup/broth is a good idea too, but it doesn't fill you up for long. What it does do, though, is lessen the amount of rice you consume by filling the rest of your stomach up with liquid.
Another trick I do is I'll put a very little amount of rice in my bowl, and before I get up to go for seconds/thirds/fourths, I'll have little breaks in between just so my "fullness" could set in. This keeps me from overeating.0 -
Do you like wild rice? It has less carbs than white rice, about forty calories less than white rice per serving, three times as much fiber, and nearly twice as much protein, twice as much vitamin B6 , ten times as much folate, and more than twice as much iron...and it's yummy. I love me some wild rice!!0

How are you eating 3 cups of rice? That's a ton of rice. I eat about a half cup in a meal?0

Are you having trouble hitting your macros/calorie goals? If not, then I wouldn't worry about it too much if it's a food you enjoy. However I'd find 3 cups of white rice hard to fit into my calories/macros. If you're still concerned I would try portioning it out. Maybe when you cook rice, give yourself a reasonable portion (I usually go for around 100g cooked) and then immediately put the rest away (pack it up and put leftovers in the fridge). You can always go back for seconds but it's the "out of sight, out of mind" approach. And if you're anywhere as lazy as me, after putting in all the effort of packing it away you'll be less likely to go back for more. Just an idea.0

I used to eat an entire pot of rice by myself for dinner... 6 cups maybe?... often. It's not that hard if you are a compulsive/binge eater/carbaholic like I was.0 -
I prefer rice over potatoes and I am from the south. I love any kind of rice and tend to overdo as well but I only eat it maybe 3 times a month. I am trying to replace as many carbs/starches with fresh veggies. I am experimenting with Quinoa so I can have a more healthier alternative.0

I was a big white rice eater!! but, I decided it was one of those things that I was willing to give up in order to get healthy. I've switched to a quick cooking brown rice and don't mind it ... it's still not good old white rice ... but I keep reminding myself that white rice is just garbage and I don't want to be putting garbage in my body :-)0

If you're worried about variety and not health, then I would recommend subbing in polenta every once in a while. It's got more carbs and more sodium (if you make it with broth and not just straight water, which I do). It's pretty inexpensive, very easy to make and it is a fantastic base for a hearty meal with lots of veggies and what not mixed in.0

being asian we typically eat rice every meal but i needed to change for losing fat hence i eat black rice after my workout ( strength and endurance) and tons of root vegetables for carbs. if i am not feeling lazy, i would mix black rice with brown. my kids like the combo as well. good luck.0

yay to polenta and quinoa! If you aren't gluten sensitive, try tabouli or couscous for some variety. Are you just looking for something to substitute the rice? I'm gluten sensitive, so all of my bread / pasta has some kind of rice derivative. I gained a TON of weight when I started putting gluten free substitutions in for wheat. Rice has way more calories for the same quantity of food. Much higher on the GI too. Quinoa works great warm with stir fry or lentil, or chilled with cucumber, tomatoes, feta, and a little olive oil, mint, and lime juice. I usually have that in a tub all summer. I was never really a fan of white rice, overall, aside from rice crispy treats and fried rice.0

as long as you maintain your calorie deficit and are not blowing out the carbs ever day then you should be fine …
or just scale it back to 1.5 servings for dinner…which will cut your intake in half…
