although I love running, I have to say walking at a brisk pace. it burns a lot of calories and everyone can do it.

My favy. I'll walk when I don't feel like doing anything else.

I do a lot of spinning: I know, it only works the legs, but it did help me lose a lot of weight! Otherwise compound exercises like jumping jacks burn a lot of calories, or so I've heard :-)

Spinning does a lot more than for the legs.....its great for the abdomen and as a calorie burn.............

Squats and press ups. Love them both.
  • I run triathlons, so swimming, cycling, and running. Plus I lift weights a couple times a week too. So much cross training means love for all my muscle groups. Never been in better shape then when I'm in tri training mode.

Zumba is awesome, 60 minutes = 650 calories and the time goes by in a blink because you are concentrating on the moves and having fun, it doesn't even feel like excersise until you realize how much you are dripping with sweat at the end. It is deffinetly helping me lose weight as well as sculpting my shape.

I have gone back to doing a step aerobics routine.
I know... the 90's are calling! LOL

That, and lots & lots of squats!

    I LOVE step routines..especially Cathe Friedrich's.

I love the elliptical crosstrainer...you move both your legs and your arms. I do the various settings, and the machines I use at my gym indicate where you are working your body.

It is easy to get lazy on a machine, but I can easily burn 300 calories doing 20 minutes on the trainer if I really focus.
