    I've met people that use the word serial instead of serious. Wha? I want to tell them the only thing they're serial about is not using the word serious correctly.

    Love this topic. How about people who pronounce the "t" in often? It is actually silent and does not make you sound more articulate. Or my other favorite is "irregardless" instead of "regardless" :noway:

    Pet peeve = "ones", as in "You can take the books on the table, and I will take the ones on the shelf."

    "One" is a singular term, so how can you have more than one singluar term? That would imply more than one and there are two or more of the item.

    "Pop" is a noise made by a small escape of air. Or perhaps your dad/grandfather.

    The "pop" you speak of is a derivative of SODA POP, so "soda" is in fact the correct way to say it, regardless of geography. "Coke" is also an acceptable catch-all.

    I have a few that irk me. Unthaw. That's freeze, I would say. Irregardless is another. Putting apostrophes before every "S" at the end of a word for no particular reason, except maybe they were on sale. I have many, but I will give others a turn.

    One of my friends uses "mula" all the time when she means moolah, but even the word moolah is completely obnoxious. I don't know why she can't use the word money or even a dollar sign.

    "I will buy some of those Girl Scout cookies this weekend when I have mula on me!"

    Can't stand irregardless.

    A friend of mine got suspended in high school for calling out a teacher for using it.
