Hello there, i'm 24 years old female and with a goal in mind, I've always been the chubby kid, but a few years a go a decided to try to change that, the deal is this: I always star but after a month or so after loosing about 8-10 pounds I start to loose motivation and focus and i slip back to my old weight. I've tried diets,herbalife, and a different variety of exercise programs but i always end up short and get frustrated because i loose focus. On December i'm getting married and i really want to loose about 20 pound to start, to feel and look good for my big day , but like i told you guys before,I have right about now very little motivation and i slip very easily . ;
I could really use some backup from you guys right now to help me keep in track and motivated to loose those 20 pound or more
: ) .
Thankyou!!!!!!

Tho I am new to all of this, add me and we can try this together. ;0)
I'm 48 and have never had to diet before, so I need all the help I can get.0 -
If your own wedding day doesn't motivate you - I'm not sure there's anything we could say to motivate you.
It's all about habit anyway so - Get your eating under control by weighing/measuring/logging everything you eat. Losing is all about maintaining a calorie deficit. Get in the habit of moving more - walk, run, lift, zumba - but do something 3 - 4 times a week.
You have several months to work with. Put your mind to it and make this your priority. IF you do, you'll walk down the aisle the best you can be. That's all you can ask for.
Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!0 -

This. No amount of outside motivation can compare to what you can give yourself. Living a healthier lifestyle is all about self-love. You need to really want it. Feel free to friend me. Oh, and congrats on your upcoming wedding as well! :-)0 -
You've taken a good first step. Now (tough love coming...watch out!)...YOU just have to do it. You can find plenty of energetic cheerleaders to add to your MFP friend list, which may help you, BUT no one else can do the work for you. No one. You either really want to lose some weight before the wedding and are willing to put in the work, or you are just loving the idea of buying a smaller dress size but aren't quite committed to seeing it through. Either way (based on the profile pic), you will be a lovely, beautiful bride. Believe that you can do it yourself...because you can (hint: we all can). Good luck and congrats.0

Well you’re at the right place to start. Using the food and exercise log has really helped me, One thing that you could try doing is taking a picture of yourself in a bikini or other skin reveling outfit and send it to me Oh wait I mean putting it on your refrigerator so every time you go to hit the fridge you see that photo and it will help you make a better choice. Another idea is to make better choices at the market, don’t keep the bad foods in the house that can cause you to slip.
As for the exercise part, mix it up and do activities that are fun to you, which will keep you motivated, well it has worked for me anyway. Or do a fast pace workout, I do a Tabata routine that takes 20-30 minutes it’s too fast for me to lose my attention and therefore my motivation. Also, set goals and give yourself rewards for reaching those goals. And lastly get a good support group, people that will give you complements, motivation, people you can talk to.
Nothing is impossible if you set your mind to it!
Best wishes on reaching your goals.

Hey there... I am a guy who was in the same boat. Not the getting married thing, but I had a goal that was really frustrating to get to. I have a few friends that help me stay on track. Find a buddy that is not afraid to tell you the truth and have them keep you honest with your eating and exercise. I started dieting in October of last year and by thanksgiving I had lost 15 lbs. I am not doing any fad diets or anything like that. Just eat what you like, but stay under your calories for the day. I have a cheat meal once a week to keep my motivation up. I look forward to that day and start planning for it the day after. lol. Find something, like your wedding dress, and take a picture of it and hang it up somewhere that you will see it everyday. Let that be your reminder. It is hard sometimes to stay true to your diet, but just remember what is ahead and how it is going to feel to reach your goal. If you set your mind on it......you can do it. Feel confident in yourself and don't let yourself not reach your goal. 20 lbs in 9 months is so doable.
Good luck and congratulations on your wedding.0 -
You are here... that's the first step. But now the work begins... however? If you can't maintain a new lifestyle for at least a month with your wedding looming in the background? Bad news is.. there is no way you'll maintain it for life when there is no motivator 10 months away. You have to make the decision to do something for yourself or get comfortable being who you are today. This is an everyday job you are responsible for and not outside motivation will ever be as important as your inside determination.
Instead of worrying about your wedding, do this because you want to feel and look better for life. Make small adjustments to start.. take a walk everyday, drink more water, eat an apple instead of a twinkie... etc. Once you've mastered your head, you can master your body... start to count your cals, get a real feel for what you are consuming and reduce it slowly until you are in a deficit you can maintain. This will take longer? But it will be something you can do with less internal stress and maybe even maintain.
I also have a wedding coming up in October... There is NOTHING stopping me from being the bride I** want to be... and then the wife I** need to be for my to be husband. It's a mind set you need to find in yourself, take a solid grasp, and then go for it.
I wish you happiness no matter what you do and I encourage you to make decisions that promote your health and well being!! Good luck!0 -
Happy to offer help feel free to add me. That goes for anyone who needs another MFP friend.0

Find yourself a small group of people to work out with, that will also act as a motivator for you. You feed off of each other’s energy, if your close enough you get to the point where you don’t want to let the group down and you tend to reach deeper than you would if you were working out on your own. My W/O group is also my best support group as well.0
