What's the best HRM to get? I've read about Fitbit, Polar etc. Also, which is better, the chest strap or watch? I've tried to investigate it myself but feel like I'm going round in circles!
I don't have a lot of money to spend on one but obviously would like a decent one, so I can save if need be... I think!
Thanks for advice

I have the Polar FT4 I think it's called and it works great! I love it. I don't workout without it. I made sure to read all the reviews and it got all good. It wasn't too expensive. It's probably one of the ones on the least expensive side, but still a very good HRM. That's my opinion though. And I think the strap is the most accurate way to know how many calories you burned. I hope this helps!0

I had a Polar FT4 until I lost it, now I have a Polar FT7 which is almost the same as the FT4. both under $100. they both have chest straps and are comfortable enough that I wear it all day at work (i walk during breaks and lunch) until I do my run in the evening. I think it's a must have but that is just my opinion.0

First ... what activities are you planning on performing while wearing the HRM? A fitbit and HRM track different data and are not interchangeable for most activities.
Second ... do you want a separate HRM or something that links with your phone?0 -
I purchased the polar H7 to work with my Iphone - I am relatively new to exercise but wanted to keep a track of calories burned etc. So far so good it works really well and great to see how hard I worked with the visuals on the app but also good to be able to see on online via computer too . You do have to pay for the app but that was only a small charge but really easy to follow the polar beat.0

Without this information you are just getting advice on which HRMs are best for other people and their activities!0
