High Cortisol and Exercise

I was hoping to get some good advice on what exercise and duration for someone with high cortisol. I am so confused! The Dr. Says 30 mins.of resistance training no cardio because tje cardio raises the cortisol levels higher. Then I've heard light cardio and weights..yoga only. Most agree no more than 30 minutes 5 days a week. I have a hard time keeping it under an hour but I dont want to make it worse. Also..how long does it take to lower the levels? Thanks.

I've heard that a mix of cardio and weights is best.
What I've heard is far more credible than what your doctor says.0 -
If you dont mind me asking. .where did you hear that? And how long per workout?0

Not sure what your goals are but if you're looking to build muscle (?) you want to get that cortisol level down after your workout. Cortisol doesn't like insulin so simple carbs after your workout should help. This is the ONLY reason for my snickers after a gym session =D
If you're just trying to lower it in general, I have no idea, sorry.0 -

You'll only be able to do that, if you're new to it (later you'll need a calorie surplus). I know, I was trying for ages.
Like I say, I don't know much about it but I do know it prevents (maybe not prevents but buggers it up a bit) muscle growth. So a bit of fruit or something sugary after a workout is a good idea to get an insulin spike. Beyond that, I'm no help.0
