    Oh, is that why?

Isn't it common place in the Military to call short breaks "reprieves?"
I'm not implying it's correct but I've heard that several times by ex-military.

Either way, I meant to take a break from the internet.
    Sorry for the confusion.

    Reprieve:
    a warrant authorizing this.
    any respite or temporary relief.

In your third sentence, the appropriate word is "asserting" rather than "implying".

Regardless, language comprises more than vocabulary. Words have specific meanings and combinations of words have specific meanings. There are efficient and inefficient ways to make such combinations, as much as there are correct and incorrect ways. All of these aspects occur well before we consider the actual art of prose, where the honed edge of the blade is truly located.

Thus it is very difficult to pinpoint an individual error and state "this is why". After more than a sentence or two, writing becomes as unique as a fingerprint. You can really learn a lot about a person from how they write - - and that's before we even start looking at what they're actually saying.

    In any event, potato peeler.

I was just going to say that his language use seems jilted and forced, like a small child wearing their parent's shoes.

    But your description is better.

It's like he keeps a pocket dictionary / thesaurus combo with him at all times so he can look up and use the more obscure (yet often out of context) words to appear to be something he's not. Very poor diction on his part is what makes it look so forced and clear that he really has no idea what he's talking about. The added definitions he types in his replies back this up moreso.

Yes, next to my COMPUTER I keep a pocket dictionary / thesaurus combo.

Do you really want to do this, again?

Lol. If you're trying to prove how smart you are online to random people, bets are that you try to prove it away from the pc too to anyone that will listen to your pathetic attempts.

Back to what sparked your little banter.
English is learned, whereas IQ is generally believed to be genetic in nature.

Your logical fallacy is ad hominem.

In this conversation, said hominem is the subject, meaning ad hominem is not a logical fallacy.

You see, this ties back in to what I was saying earlier about language. Words have meaning. You can't just 'say stuff' and expect 'things to happen'.

    Evidently I can.

What happens is I speak, you hang on my words for about 15-25 minutes then you end up spending a lengthy period of time writing a well written but misguided reply that very few if anyone actually reads.

Also, you're incorrect in several key areas.

    Shall we continue?

Yes, let's begin with any of the key areas in which I'm incorrect.

My favorite is the subtle change to "I'm being stupid on purpose as a provocateur". I really enjoy that. Do that one now.

Why don't you read that over one more time.

I look forward to hearing about your "I know you are but what am I" method of interrogating suspects.

People wonder why cops have a bad image.

Here's one of many instances where you randomly say something with little or no relevance.

You're confused, and you don't even know why you're arguing with me.

Another instance is the "English" you continue to bring up, what relevance does it have?

You originally implied I don't have a 140+ IQ because of my English, to which I replied that IQ is generally believed to be genetic whereas English is learned.

To reiterate you speak mindlessly, your posts have no value or relevance your argument is ad hominem.

You can't win on a logical level, so you insult any minor error you can find in regard to my english even though it has no bearing on the aforementioned. (IQ.) which was what originally sparked this little argument.
