Your Favorite Weightlifting Exercise/Least Favorite

What's your favorite weightlifting regiment? In other words, what movement do you think has provided you with the most noticeable improvement to your body. I hated weighted plank rows when I first started but now I love them. I've gotten lots of good shoulder definition that I didn't have before. It is now my favorite. My least favorite.....bench presses. I see very little, if any benefit from doing those.

They are one in the same for me.

    OHP

One day they can be my best friend and I feel insanely awesome doing them. The very next time I do them they can be my own little personal walk through hell.

The most visible improvement? Hard to say. In terms of strength, stability, etc., it's a close race between front squats and Turkish get-ups.

My favorite lift in terms of actually performing it is the front squat.

My least favorite ... any single-leg lift. I hate Bulgarian split squats, lunges, step-ups, and single-leg deadlifts equally.

I feel a nagging at my rotator cuff whenever I do overhead or military presses. Maybe my technique is off.

Depending on my mood, Dips or Pull ups for favorite,

most hated has to be squats. Some variations are more tolerable than others but I dont enjoy any of them.

I love skull crushers, dumbbell renegade rows and sumo squats.

Least favorite (but I still do them) are lateral raises. The movement feels so unnatural to me, but I love the way it makes my delts look.

I love squats and KB clean & press and KB rows (love rows!!)
I hate burpees but I do them.

I hate turkish get ups but only becasue I'm still not strong enough to do them cleanly. But I'll get there because they look really cool.

I love sumo squats and overhead presses. As a whole program, Chalean Extreme is my true love. It goes super slow and I see such great results. I hate anything that works my outer thighs, but I love it too. I'm not sure if that counts as weight lifting, but I figured ankle weights still count. There's a workout from the Brazil Butt Lift program called High and Tight. It uses ankle bands and ankle weights and while I am crying by the end of the workout, I love feeling the burn. I'm actually doing a hybrid that includes both of those programs right now, so I get to do all those workouts regularly right now. Fun stuff!

Deadlifts are probably tops for me. To really look strong you've got to develop your back and deadlifts are great for that.

Favorite and yielded best overall results...definitely deads. Haven't used a straight bar in several years though, got sick of having bleeding shins all the time. Switched to a hex bar...very nice, easier on the bicep tendons too.

Couple other exercises I've modified and had great results:

Modified pulldown with D rings and a short Y chain connecting them.
Lean forward so when your arms are fully extended overhead you feel a good stretch in your lats. As you pulldown pull the D rings apart and draw your elbows back as far as possible, squeeze shoulder blades together, and hold for a split second. Slowly let the cable back up to full stretch of the lats. Supersetting this exercise with close grip bench presses is a favorite, whole upper body is pumped after a few sets.

Bastardized low cable upright row with D rings and a short Y chain connecting them.
Pull the D rings up and apart as you extend your elbows to the side. Don't have to go too high, not like a regular upright row, so no risk of shoulder impingement. At failure you can get a few extra cheat reps by letting your traps assist to shrug the weight up. Shoulder won't let me do regular wide grip upright rows but I can do these relatively pain free and they really hit the side delts.

I'm not sure as far as noticeable improvement, but I love doing deadlifts and backsquats. They make me feel so strong.

I haaate overhead anything. Snatches the most, but overhead squats are a close second.

I love bent over rows myself. You get almost a full body workout with that one, works your upper body and your core as you try to maintain balance.

    Love rows and squats.

Don't like doing arm exercises anymore (even though they are my best bodypart).
