Today for breakfast I had 2 eggs with onions and peppers, quaker cinnamon spice oatmeal with a banana and a cup of green tea. For lunch I had a very small salad with some guac on top and an apple, raisins for a snack, and for dinner I had cold cut turkey with a small salad and a banana with some peanut butter. I just ate a pint of raspberry sorbet from hagen daaz, is this gonna ruin my progress I feel terrible right now...

I read in a fitness magazine recently that you can have one bad day. One binge won't hurt your good work! They said you don't even really have to modify your exercise for the next day and that a "mistake" up to 600 calories won't hurt your progress. Obviously you can't do this every day, but stress over this can actually inhibit you. So don't worry! Just focus on what's ahead of you, not what you can't change0

It won't affect your long-term progress. Just keep going.
However, I do think it's important that you understand why you binged. Do you enjoy the food you eat throughout the day? Are you satisfied with your calorie intake and your food choices? Sometimes people end up binging because they're being overly restrictive or eating too few calories.
If you ate a pint of sorbet just because you like sorbet, one high calorie day here and there shouldn't be a problem. If you ate a pint of sorbet because other aspects of your diet aren't physically or emotionally satisfying to you, then you may want to try incorporating a little more moderation into your food choices.0 -
Be thankful it was not Ben & Jerry's instead. Sorbet is high in sugar, but comparatively lower in calories. It will not do anything.0

Interesting - I binged when I was stricter, "falling off the wagon" but now I'm allowing white rice (in sushi) and the odd sweet snack, etc and I am finding it much easier, no cravings or anything. It's about physical and emotional satisfaction. It's about moderation and realising you haven't thrown it all away because of one snack (that's where the 'all or nothing' binge mode comes into play. Thanks! learning all the time0
