Cleaning = burning??

I work as a waiter and chose the appropriate setting (active) and was just wondering if us innately calculates the calories I burn via my job. So I don't log that right? )))))
Thanks guys.
That is correct. You either include it in your activity level when setting up your profile and do not add it, or exclude it and log it. Otherwise you would be double dipping.0 -
Why would you even care anyways? Why not just worry about yourself? It doesnt affect you any.
I'm not trying to sound rude or anything, I'm just getting tired of reading some of these posts. Its dumb. As someone else said; "I'll do me and you do you."0 -
In my mind set cleaning, yard work, play with the kids, going to costco is just living life not considered exercise. The list of exuses to eat more and not go over the calorie count and then wine about not lossing weight goes on forever. If your hungry truely hungry eat more so you go over your calories for the day, just keep it real.
Have you even read the other responses? So, no-one that logs, and 'eats those calories back" it is actually losing weight? Right!
No I haven’t read everyones respons, was only responding to the OP and my experience with those who add every little thing
as calories burned. I do have MFP friend that do exactly what I wrote and when they don’t lose weight they whine about it and
say they might as well quit. Like I said keep it real and log exercise calorie.
I have to say every time I have seen your writings you have been dogmatic and are begening to sound like a
Troll.
If someone is double counting their daily activity in their Activity Coefficient (multiplier) and then logging their activities as exercise, and then cannot figure out why they aren't losing weight- why not point it out to them in a helpful way, rather than publicly dogging them in a forum? They probably legitimately don't understand what the problem is. Or it could be that in the beginning they lost weight by doing what you described, and they don't understand why it's not working anymore. When people go from being truly sedentary to adding some activity in their life- that can be a big difference for them and it might be effective in the beginning. Maybe that person used to ride the little carts around costco, and now they're walking! I personally don't count that as exercise, but I am an active person, so those types of activities are negligible in my overall day. Everybody has to start somewhere.
Calling someone a troll for having a differing opinion than yours is offensive. If by dogmatic you mean she has well defined opinions that she's willing to stick up for, I guess she may be that kind of dogmatic. I guess dogmatic in that sense would imply having strength of character. She certainly doesn't apply any moral or political tones to what she posts...0 -
Eh, it's whatever to me. Calories burned are calories burned.
It could be worse: I read somewhere that watching TV for an hour burns 200 calories. At least MFP doesn't include that!0 -

After reading this earlier I had a crap load of yard an gardening work to do, I would not normally log such a thing but since I got a new hrm I really wanted to see what I burned doing this and I only used it for 1 hour and I burned 560 calories I actually did 2 hours but the second was alot more like normal stuff I would do so I didn't bother wearing it for that. I was sweating my *kitten* off! So I logged it!
And why the heck do you care what another logs?0 -
I am a hotel cleaner, believe me changing linen pulling beds around, cleaning bathrooms to a high grade finish mopping, vacuum ...etc etc .. A heavy lifting job , that make me sweat everyday! It's nothing to mock!! I feel my work everyday my body aches from it most days!! So I will put in my calories burnt for sure!0
