    Funny, I just saw this article, and it about sums it up! Green Chile is a staple here. We even have a state question: 'Red or Green" and it refers to the chile that your food (enchiladas, etc) is smothered with. An no, red chile is not the same as Texas chili.

    How I miss getting my green chile!! We only moved away six months ago, and I cannot wait for chile season so I can get some shipped up to me. My extra freezer is ready!!

    Soup beans (pintos), cornbread, brown rice, lots of spicy foods, corn tortillas, salad, and chicken breast are all staples in this house!

    I would say the typical Aussie diet features a lot of meat mainly prawns, mudcrab, fish, steak, lamb and sausages. Sliced beetroot on burgers is also a very Aussie thing I think. And of course vegemite on toast and pavlova but not together of course :)
    We have such a multi-cultural society though, with many different foods from what I grew up with.
