Not at all surprised. She lost an extreme amount to win and then "right-sized" to a healthier, maintainable weight. I am not a fan of the show, but I'm hopeful that her success will be long-term.

I saw her about a month ago on one of those daytime talk about celebs...type of shows. I never watch them usually but happened to catch were she was on. At the time she had mentioned she put on 15 lbs and she really did look much, much better. Hopefully she is able to maintain this weight. She looks great.

Winners of The Biggest Loser almost always gain 20 pounds within a month of the finale. Prior to the finale, they do whatever they can to weigh less, including limiting water and sweating out as much as possible. They step on that scale VERY dehydrated. She probably weighed 10 pounds more within 24 hours of regular eating and drinking. Several former winners have disclosed these methods. If I'm recalling correctly, one of the men gained 30 pounds within a month of the finale (purposely - he returned to regular eating and reached that higher, healthier weight).

What I would love to see would be a show that followed the progress of people throughout a year and didn't make them feel like crap if they don't lose weight for every weigh in. Yknow, a show that would actually make viewers realise that it is do-able and can be done in a healthy way. I don't think many people have been inspired to lose weight in a healthy and manageable way after watching Biggest Loser.

But I guess that wouldn't have the entertainment factor that networks love....

Someone is 5 pounds underweight and people say she looks disgusting.

Someone is 50 pounds overweight and people praise them for being so beautiful and brave.

    The double standard is infuriating.

I think people need to stop focusing on a number and more on their personal accomplishments.. The way people view that needs a major overhaul

Just so we're clear the only people praising people 50 pounds overweight are also overweight. It's a bit of a false equivalency really, as if the groups who say those things must be the same people or reflect upon each other when really they aren't.

It's insane that people would use this woman as some kind of 'Skinny Chick Discrimination' rallying cry when A. She isn't an example of a healthy looking underweight woman and B. She's admitted she did it to win and never had any intention of staying at that weight. She's a game player, not a figurehead for a cause.

She is not the bandwagon you're looking for.

Yes, Biggest Loser is astounding in its ability to both fat-shame and skinny-shame. We're shocked when a show designed to reward the person who loses the most weight regardless of methods results in someone losing the most weight regardless of methods?

It doesn't matter whether she looks healthy or not. She lost weight in the first place because she felt terrible about herself. How would you feel if you worked so hard to lose all that weight only to have the entire country say you look horrible?

We all acknowledge that she lost a dramatic amount or weight because she wanted to win a boat load of money. Can you honestly say you wouldn't have done the same?

She went to the extreme to win the jackpot, can't say I blame her at all. Heck we just had a guy that I work with that lost 45 pounds in 90 days just to win the "Biggest Loser" contest they had here. There is no way that was healthy, I assume he existed on a diet of spinach and water just to hit those numbers. Crazy!

Well said! you can't make everyone happy just yourself and if she was happy (which I'm sure she wasn't but she wanted to win) than let it go...but she does look healthier now.

Stop looking for other people to be a scapegoat for your problems.

She did it to win, she's healthier now. End of story.

I'd cry myself to sleep on my piles and piles of money.

She looks fine. Not that you can tell how healthy a person is by a picture on a website, but...from what she has said, she won a contest, took her money, then got back to a weight that wasn't as extreme for her body type. Seems ok to me, but then again, it also seems clear to me that the show is a steaming pile of obesity porn and not a paragon of inspiration.

Sooo, how do they know she gained 20 lbs.? Or she told the press herself?

Either way, she looks much better...and love that dress.
