Miami!

Hey all! We're leaving for Miami on Saturday for the first part of our honeymoon! Any locals or regular visitors that know of some good bars/restaurants to go to?? We prefer independent places as opposed to big chains and are open to all types of ethnic food as well! Bonus points for local beer although I'm not sure that's really a big thing in Florida.

Miami is a big place. Do you know what part of Miami you are going to be staying in?

Head to south beach where the restaurants and clubs are plentiful and hopping. We had a great Cuban meal, a great Argentinian meal, a great Bahamian meal all in local spots that you see walking the amazing streets and checking out the sights. YELP is your friend. Good places in Coconut Grove as well but that is a driving distance from South Beach.

Joe's Stone Crab is awesome and you can't go to South Beach without hitting up Wet Willie's. OH and make sure to go to Lincoln Road outdoor strip mall. It has lots of shops that aren't all commercial. Plus, you can get a lot of exercise walking up and down it. There's also a nice movie theater that sits on that strip.

I love Tap Tap. It's right in South Beach (on 5th street). And for South Beach the prices are extremely reasonable! They serve authentic Haitian food and the paintings in the restuarant are awesome. I ate there a few times back in 2010, but my favorite time there was for Halloween before we hit up Coconut Grove!
