Caffine -fat burning pills?

So, my trainer works for Nutri-Shop and brought me in a sample of "fat-burning" supplements to try. They are supposed to help control my appetite. First he asked me how I handle caffeine - I told him I usually have one cup of coffee a day, and only in the morning. If I drink caffeine to late in the day, I have a hard time sleeping. Yesterday, I tried my first round of sample pills. Here's my problem. I am jittery and feel very wired from the caffeine, and found I was making hourly trips to the bathroom. When I asked him if there was a diarrhetic in the pill - he said yes... Would have been nice to know that before I took them.
While I'm not looking for a quick fix, I have been stalled on my weight loss, and thought this might help me keep on track with my calories. Any opinions on using supplements to "help" you out? The cost for a full package was kind of expensive - $150.00 for a three month supply.

You don't know what they're putting in those supplements - be careful. I would also be wary of any trainer that recommended I take supplements, esp. ones that indicated "fat burning" properties. If your weight loss has stalled, it is your trainer's job to help you get it moving again naturally and not presenting you with pills that could be potentially harmful. Just my opinion, of course.0

I personally am not willing to do anything that I am not going to stick with. I say if your journey has stalled, to mix up your workout or drink more water, etc. Try new things the healthy way. Not sure how I feel about taking pills for a quick fix, even just to get restarted.0

I have taken my share of weight loss "fat burning" supplements, but none of them ever worked. They all gave me a "loose tummy" and the jittery feeling. Generally if I need a "boost" (as I have 3 kids under the age of 3, so I don't sleep much haha) i'll indulge in a sugar-free redbull or something. Not often, but occasionally when i'm really dragging after say......2 hours of sleep the night before hahaha.
It's not the right answer, but it's my experience.
I do hope you can get past your lull though, good luck!0 -
I am curious what the product is. You are probably jittery because the caffeine content of the supplement is higher. I tend to shy away from pre-made stacks, much preferring to assemble my own with ones proven to work.0

I've taken quite a few of the fat burners and some of the work some of them don't, if you're strict with your program then everything will fall into place. But if you're slacking it will not work.. they help me before the gym normally to give me that extra "umph"
What brand/name are the supplements...
Be careful if a trainer is giving you something that is not labeled.. that's very dangerous..
I make sure I have everything checked out by my trainer and I know what ALL the ingredients are in everything.

You may want to take some time to research the product that you just put into your body. It is difficult to tell you anything about it since you didn't give us a name. You can go to the Nutrishop web-site and get more information.0 -
The pills weren't labeled except for "thermo" - he only gave me four as a sample. (two for yesterday, two for today), also gave me some protein powders to try - which weren't bad... I've been very satisfied with my gym workouts with him, but expressed some trouble staying away from certain foods and having some hunger spells, so it was his suggestion that I try out these supplements. I'll go to the Nutri-shop and take a look at what's there, and the ingredients and warnings before I decide to go this route, but since I've never used anything like this before, I wanted to know what experience others have had with these.0

it's obvious you can't handle caffiene, and that's okay. I would stick with the old fashioned way, watch your calories, exercise, stay away from these ' fat burning supplements" this program will work. Just look at some of the testimonies. Your body will respond. Also make sure you take in the reccommended calories. Too little, and your bodies metabolism slows down. One day at a time.0

Umm I'd never take anything that wasn't pre-packaged. Even my gym has samples, but they are actual packaged samples from the company.0

I've spent days researching every supplement I've tried. You couldn't pay me to take a pill when I don't know what's in it.
BTW, your trainer must not be a very good trainer if he has to put pills down your throat.0
