    Natural or light popcorn

  • I subscribed to graze boxes because I, like you, get in a funk with my snacks. I love it because it's customizable towards your preferences (i.e., sweet, savory, nuts, fruits) and I get it delivered to me at work. Everything is below 150 calories and it's been put together by a dietician. My favorite so far has been the flap jacks and dippers.

If I have the calories to spare......
    - peanuts
    - apple with peanut butter
    - Smart Balance Peanut Butter Popcorn nuggets
    - Adkins peanut indulge bar
(you may notice a peanut and peanut butter trend here)
    - a few ounces of my own special mix of the following:
HyVee Dark Chocolate Cranberry Trail mix (1/2 bag) http://caloriecount.about.com/calories-hy-vee-trail-mix-i266072
Walmart Great Value Indulgent Trail mix (1/2 bag) http://www.walmart.com/ip/Great-Value-Indulgent-Trail-Mix-28-oz/10324642?wmlspartner=Hy3bqNL2jtQ&sourceid=00424936580557314343&oid=183959.1&affillinktype=10&veh=aff
then add extra regular old dry roasted peanuts and sunflower seeds (to taste) http://www.walmart.com/ip/Dakota-Style-Roasted-and-Salted-Sunflower-Kernels-16-oz/20434401

If I don't have the calories to spare and need to be careful....
    - Ambrosia apple (best apple to eat fresh, very sweet and crunchy with a very slight taste of an almost honey flavor)
    - Fuji apple (2nd best apple to eat fresh, sweet and crunchy)
    - Honey Tangerine (sweet, very juicy and very flavorful)
    - Cara Cara orange (also nice and sweet)
    - Naval orange
    - blackberries
    - watermelon
    - grapes
    - Walgreen's Good &Delish Vanilla Creme Almonds or Deep South Praline Pecans (http://www.mystore411.com/store/deal/56728/Walgreens-Good-&-Delish-Snacks)
    - raw carrots (last resort, lol)

Now for my more non-healthy snacks (not including almost any kind of potato chips which I both love and crave):
    - Cheez Itz (those things, along with Garden Salsa Sun Chips, are of the devil, lol)
    - Triscuits
    - Wheat thins (Salsa, BBQ, Sweet Onion)

    Why low fat?

My favorite daily snack is an apple with some almonds.

Low fat because some processed foods have high sugars or bad calories in fat.

Fat is good if you can afford the calories. You should aim to eat 0.35g per pound of body weight. Usually, when they take the fat out, they add sugar. Fat is also satisfies one's hunger and helps with vitamin absorption... Just sayin' :smokin:

Fitting ice cream in a daily healthy diet would be hard, unless 1 scoop paired with fruit, but still this should idea could be for dessert :)

healthier pear and almond muffins. I put the recipe on my blog http://consumingcate.blogspot.com/2014/04/recuperation-and-pear-and-almond-muffins.html I also like rice crackers and vintage cheese with cherry tomatoes. Sure these are not the MOST healthiest snacks ever, but I'm trying to reprogram from years of binge eating.

I like cacao balls. I got a recipe for them off Pinterest (Heaps of healthy snack ideas to be found there!) As far as ice cream goes, you could try making your own fruit frozen yogurt in the blender instead, and pouring it into those plastic Popsicle molds.
  • Vegetables Trays (Broccoli Florets, Grape Tomatoes, Celery Sticks, Cheddar Cheese Squares, and Ranch). I like having a whole tray all to myself... I know that probably defeats the purpose : |

...I learned today that if you add Butter Crackers to your Vegetable Tray, it makes for an even more delicious snack : | I know, I know, I am completely ruining the "healthy" part of it- encourage me to do better.

    Nice trolling

The only low calorie snacks that fill me up somewhat are - raw carrots, plain Greek yogurt with fresh strawberries, lunch meat and cheese roll up (but I don't know how 'healthy' that is with all the sodium).
