    lol...i don't have a dog..but i have a cat that likes to go under me when i'm in plank position...I tell him...move or become a flat cat!!!!!:blushing:

My cat does this exact same thing. My dog also loves to come and cuddle when I'm trying to do floor exercises.

My dog used to be a pain too, but then I trained her to sit on her bed and stay while I work out. She gets massive amounts of her favorite treats when I'm done. Now, when she sees me putting on my workout clothes she makes a dash to her bed with her tail wagging.

My 110 lb Great Dane mix thinks its a game and wants to play, I have to block off the living room with a chair....but he still makes his way under the coffee table and ends up under my feet!
  • Because of my dog, my cats, my kids, and the occasional husband passing through with a sausage and pepper hero I decided to RUN and get a gym membership!

I also have to remove my cat because he likes to jump up at me. It just looks like he's trying to join in, it's so damn cute.

My dog doesn't want to do anything, because she's 12. I cannot do yoga or pilates in her presence, because she feels the need to waller all over me and lick my hair... but if I'm doing aerobics, first she gets all bent out of shape because I make her move out of the middle of the floor, and actually grumbles when she lays down elsewhere. Then, she watches me, sulking from the corner, and looking at me like I'm totally insane. This is the "look" : Baileybug.jpg

I have two dashchunds and a pug. The pug could care less but the minute I start moving they are all over me. They tend to follow me all over the house anyway but I guess they think its play time when I exercise, especially if I'm on the floor (at their level).

However, when I want to take them for their walk/ exercise and its cold out - one of the doxies will go hide under the bed. I freeze my butt off, they get to join me (in matching sweaters of course).

Can't you just put them in another room?

My pugs TOTALLY do this when I'm doing my Body by Bethenny yoga DVD and I think it's HILARIOUS. They curl up underneath my backbend, lay between my legs during cobra...

My husband refers to their participation as 'helping' me work out.

I have 2 chihuahuas and a yellow lab. The little ones try to lick my face and the lab keeps bringing toys for me to throw. Now, I put the chihuahuas on the couch with a blanket. That at least clears them out of the way.. So I just have to dodge a 65 pound yellow lab and my 6 year old daughter... Fun times  Just think of it as improving your peripheral vision.

My chow tries to jump on me - it doesn't matter what kind of exercise, the stationary bike, treadmill, Jillian Michaels DVD, even just dancing to music cd's etc. I have to block the door to keep her out or she will pester me to death. It is almost too comical to see her doing it though.

I have a border collie mix that will just lay and watch me on the tread mill like I am crazy because I am not really going any where and then I also have a 140 lb Rotti that has to sit on me when I do any kind of floor exercise.

They drive me nuts but they are my babies.

My kitties are nearly always underfoot if I'm working out to one of my DVDs. Mr. Tadakichi is a scaredy-cat and gets out of the way pretty quicky, but Jayne thinks it's a good time to try and get my attention because he is in need of a cuddlefest RIGHT NOW.

Your male cat's name is Jayne? OMG! Hello fellow Browncoat! :flowerforyou:

Oh my two multi cultural dogs aka mutts love when I work out. They get all excited and bite my feet, jump up and down in front of me, and then they start wrestling with each other. I think I get a better workout with them around b/c I'm having to put out extra effort to avoid them! Then if I even think about abs or stretching its game over for me! I end up laughing so hard b/c they end up on top of me licking my face.

When I'm doing pilates in my room and am doing something like the plank my big fluffy cat likes to come rub up against me (which is oh so fun when I'm gross and sweaty) and lie on my mat right when I'm going to drop down.
  • I have the same problem as a lot here with the cat, no dog thankfully. Cats don't like to let you workout I've noticed. Don't try to do pushups or down dog or plank or anything like that with cats, they'll flop underneath you.

I have two little attention hogs (oops, I mean dogs)...I have to put up the baby gate in order to do any yoga!
  • My animals like to bother me when I first get started, but then they settle down. The cute thing is my 47-pound border collie will actually mimick me when I'm doing yoga - I do downward facing dog, he does downward facing dog - it's adorable!

I've got four large dogs and if the weather is good, I have to lock them outside while I workout. Tucker is attached to my hip, or would at least love it if he were so I can't do anything without him under foot, literally. When the weather is bad, I have to build a barrier with the dining room chairs so they can't get into the living room. They all stand around the chairs as if the only thing that matters in the world is saving me from the workout. I love them but it's impossible to work out when they are in the living room with me.

My one year lab retriever pup likes to lick the sweat off my face, lay on the yoga mat cuddle with my while I do sit ups, and bark at me when I do jumping jacks. Shes a real gem to workout with! lol
