scales

My scale is making me angry. I have a spring scale and depending where I'm standing on it the arrow is always at a different number.
I got a spring one because I'd never have to change the battery.
but its never accurate.

Would you recommend a digital one? Are they more accurate

I have a basic weight watchers digital and its always accurate to itself. I see the same numbers. It always moves the direction I expect it depending on my week.

I think I have the weight watchers scale as well (mainly because it was one of the cheaper ones).
Works MUCH better than a spring scale. With the spring scale if I moved it to another location on the floor my weight would magically change... plus it showed my weight lower than it actually was.
Most digital scales will also tell you your weight down to a tenth of a pound which the spring scale doesn't show (which is very motivating for me personally).

I say it's a great investment to make especially if your serious about losing weight.
As for the battery issue, most of them use lithium batteries which is said to last for a couple years (or longer) before it goes out. I'm fine with that as its proven to be a great investment.
  • I broke down and bought a Fit-Bit Aria; and I LOVE IT!

Super accurate, and links up with MFP through your fitbit account. Keeps track of 8 different users (as long as they're not real close together in weight).

When I step on the scale, it shows my weight, BF%, then my initials, then the sync arrows. 5 seconds later my fitbit account is updated, and within the hour the data has migrated over to MFP.

It's a but of a splurge, but I'm happy I shelled out the $ for mine.

I just bought a digital scale at Wallgreens and its awesome! It was only 20 bucks! It supposedly does all kinds of body fat measurements and stuff... but i haven't figured all that out yet! Its pretty awesome though! no guessing or trying to read little lines when I'm 5 ft above it!

I have the Tanita HD-351 digital scale. It is a simple scale (it does not have body fat or anything like that- just weight). It can go up to 440 pounds (according to their website). My husband, my two sons, and I all use this scale. It can store the weight of up to 5 people. Each person gets their own button, so it is very easy to use. It shows 2 weights at once each time (in 2/10 pound increments)- shows your current weight and what you weighed the last time you stepped on the scale. I have had it for over 2 years now. It seems to be reliable for every single one of us. It is a little pricier, but it lasts and isn't temperamental. I would highly recommend it as an investment.
