Scared of eating over maintenance on active days.

I did 1 hour of weight lifting this morning and was on my feet all day working as a server. I usually end up feeling super hungry by the end of the day craving everything in the fridge. I don't know whether to give into these cravings or eat above maintenance. This only happens on days I've been more active as opposed to sedentary. I'm too scared I'll gain if I eat above 1600 because I do occasionally gain even at 1500, but it's hard to stop these hunger pangs. Any advice?

I would change what you are eating so you can get more volume for less calories. Example 3 cups of steamed broccoli is 90 calories but a huge volume. You will get a full feeling and all the vitamins and minerals so your body gets what is needs and feels full. Then if you do go over your maintenance amount you are getting healthy nutrient dense food options.0

I agree, You should probably change what you are eating and maybe eat more things that will keep you full and satisfied, specifically foods high in fiber and protein! Sometimes we are often thirsty rather than hungry. I read that we mistake thirst for hungry so drink a cup or two of water and if you really still feel hungry then you should eat something that would be healthy like fruits and veggies. Try not to think that you have cravings and the best is to fight that desire, we need to get out of our comfort zone (not give in to cravings rather we should fight hard to stay away from overeating) that is if we want to see results. Or what has worked for me is to eat smaller meals every 2 - 3 hours depending. Make time for that if possible so that way you feel satisfied and not crave anything at the end of the day. It usually works on days I eat clean food0

You are supposed to be eating back your exercise calories. Did you log that lifting? Do. Your body is telling you something you should be listening to.
I would also recommend a pedometer (if you can afford one, a $38 fitbit zip links with MFP and automatically adds in your steps). When I waitressed I worked HARD. If when you work hard you need to eat more, your calories are too low on those days.
You're on maintenance. You're going to do this the rest of your life. You should eat when you're truly hungry and have used the calories.0
