:glasses: So Jan 2nd begins my kickoff to preparing my body to get in shape for the April 30th Music City marathon. I'm excited yet constantly reminding myself that this won't be easy and I have to be manetally prepared to tackle this feat even through set backs. But I know after the first accomplishment there will be many more to come. Any other runners out there??

Checkin in!!! You know it!!! You can do it & it is not as hard as you are making it seem. You have a plan, which is far better than winging it! I will be there with you & we can all keep each other motivated! LET"S GET IT!!!0

I am also running my first marathon in 2011 - The Cleveland Marathon on May 15. I ran The Cleveland and Akron 1/2 marathons this year and LOVED it....but now I want more!!! I have an amazing running partner who also happens to be a dear friend and we do all of our long runs together on Saturday mornings and then run throughout the week when we can. We are taking Jan "off" (low mileage) but we are just completing a 70 mile Advent challenge. I'm beat! Good luck with your run - focus on your long runs and you'll do just fine!0

I'm planning a Du-athlon in summer/ fall 2011...I have not chosen which one yet. That said, I am always looking for other runners/athletes to friend!0

Good for all of you!!! I also will run my first full marathon on 2011! I have run several half marathons, but a full marathon is one of my "to do before I die" goals. I haven't picked the one yet...I feel like the first should be somethiong special, not that running it isn't special enough. Anyway, good luck!!!!0

Congratulations on taking on this challenge. It is worth every step, every mile, every early morning, every ache, rain, snow, sleet or dark of night! I began running in 2009 (check out my profile) and have now completed two full marathons and 4 half marathons...all in honor and now in memory of my mother. It has truly changed my life. Welcome to running. Your non running friends won't understand you, so be sure to friend lots of other runners!

I ran my first and so far only full marathon in October 2009. I stuck to the 18 week training program and had a good time running the race. Of course, what's not to like running through our nation's capitol. My only suggestion is to find out what type of sports drinks they will pass out and train with that. I trained with somethong other than the Powerade they supplied and nearly got sick. I wasn't used to such a sweet drink.0

Wow you guys work quick on here. To every person who shared a post, or motivation Thanks. Michele and YogaRunner I know its not as hard as I'm making it I run 20miles a week now but I guess just to see it on paper puts a new perspective on it. I have firneds and family who don't understand me now but those who love me know my dedication and have mo confidence in me than i do in accomplishing this first milestone in my running career. Please keep me inspired by all of your stories and I'll be cheering you all on as you all accomplish your own personal goals. Next stop new running shoes... Yeah I'm overdue0

Well I want to chime in on here also. I did my first Half about 2 months ago and got my next half on JAN 15th. I havent ever done a outside race in cold like this other than PT in the morn at work. (I am Military). If your a runner please feel free to add me on here and my facebook. Also by chance does anyone other than me use RUNKEEPER? If you dont check it out. GPS, distance, pace, cals also you can let your friends watch you live while you run with this. Back on track now I am looking for my first full some time in 2011. Not sure right now what race and what time frame but it will happen.0
